Clinical Program Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical program manager in Texas?
Most clinical program managers in Texas hold an active clinical license, most commonly an RN license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing, combined with a bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare administration. Employers typically expect several years of direct patient care or care coordination experience before moving into program management. A Certified Case Manager credential or Project Management Professional certification strengthens candidacy and is increasingly listed as preferred in Texas postings.
How much do clinical program managers make in Texas?
Clinical program managers in Texas earn a median of about $129,960 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $74,200 for the lowest 10% to over $213,280 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical program managers in Texas?
Employers hiring clinical program managers in Texas right now include Medpace, UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Houston Methodist, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of large integrated health systems, managed care plans, and federally qualified health centers means consistent demand across both urban medical centers and regional networks.
Which Texas cities have the most clinical program manager jobs?
Irving, Dallas, and Houston have the most clinical program manager openings in Texas. Houston's density of major hospital systems and health insurance headquarters drives the largest share of postings, while Dallas and San Antonio generate steady demand through their academic medical centers, managed care operations, and growing behavioral health networks.
Are there remote clinical program manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many clinical roles, since program management work centers on coordination, reporting, and oversight rather than direct patient care. About 4% of clinical program manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role can be done through digital platforms. Population health management and utilization review functions are the most commonly offered as fully remote positions.
How can I get hired as a clinical program manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a direct clinical or care coordination role into a junior program coordinator position at a large Texas health system. Baylor Scott & White Health and Texas Health Resources both run formal care management development programs that accept clinicians transitioning out of bedside roles. Titles like care coordinator, disease management nurse, or quality improvement specialist serve as natural stepping stones, and adding a Certified Case Manager credential early signals readiness for program-level work.
Where can I find and apply to clinical program manager jobs in Texas?
