Senior Consultant Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior consultant in Missouri?
Becoming a senior consultant in Missouri typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, management, finance, or a technical discipline, followed by several years of progressively responsible consulting or industry experience. Missouri does not require a state-issued license for most consulting roles, though credentials such as a Project Management Professional certification, Certified Management Consultant designation, or a CPA license strengthen candidacy significantly with Missouri's large healthcare, financial services, and government contracting employers.
How much do senior consultants make in Missouri?
Senior consultants in Missouri earn a median of about $97,270 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,690 for the lowest 10% to over $153,300 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior consultants in Missouri?
Employers hiring senior consultants in Missouri right now include Deloitte, Burns & McDonnell, and Engineering Systems, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's concentration of major health insurers, financial institutions, and technology firms in the St. Louis and Kansas City corridors drives consistent demand for senior-level advisory talent.
Which Missouri cities have the most senior consultant jobs?
The Missouri cities with the most senior consultant openings are Kansas City, St. Louis, and Clayton. St. Louis leads because it is home to large headquarters in financial services, healthcare, and defense contracting, while Kansas City draws significant demand from its professional services and logistics sectors, and Columbia benefits from university-affiliated and state government consulting activity.
Are there remote senior consultant jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 57% of senior consultant openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, analytical, and advisory nature of most consulting work. Strategy, technology, and financial consulting roles tend to have the most remote flexibility, while roles requiring regular on-site client presence in healthcare or manufacturing remain primarily in-person.
How can I get hired as a senior consultant in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an analyst or associate consultant role, then advancing internally. Missouri employers such as large St. Louis health systems, Kansas City-area financial services firms, and state government agencies regularly hire entry-level business analysts and project coordinators who move into consulting tracks over time. Earning a Project Management Professional or Certified Management Consultant credential early, or building a portfolio of process-improvement projects, gives candidates a concrete edge when applying for that first step-up role.
Where can I find and apply to senior consultant jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to senior consultant jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings across industries and seniority levels. Search the listings for roles that match your background and experience, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
