Investment Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an investment professional in Missouri?
Most investment roles in Missouri require passing FINRA licensing exams, with the Series 7 and Series 66 being the most common combination for registered representatives and investment advisers. Missouri-based investment advisers register through the Missouri Securities Division under the Secretary of State's office. A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting is the standard educational baseline, and many firms sponsor new hires through the licensing process before they begin advising clients.
Which companies hire investment professionals in Missouri?
Employers hiring investments in Missouri right now include Moneta, RGA, and CBRE, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's concentration of financial services headquarters, particularly in St. Louis, means a significant share of openings come from firms with deep local roots rather than branch offices.
Which Missouri cities have the most investment jobs?
Kansas City, St. Louis, and Clayton account for the most investment openings in Missouri. St. Louis leads because it is home to the headquarters of major firms like Edward Jones and Stifel Financial, while Kansas City's strength in insurance and regional banking generates steady demand, and Columbia benefits from the University of Missouri's financial research ecosystem and surrounding professional services activity.
Are there remote investment jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than many financial roles, particularly for research-focused and analytical positions. About 67% of investment openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting flexibility that firms have extended to roles where client contact is not daily. Securities analysis, portfolio modeling, and back-office compliance work are the positions most likely to offer fully remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as an investment professional in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a financial analyst associate or client service associate role, which large Missouri firms like Edward Jones and Commerce Bancshares post regularly for candidates without direct investment experience. Completing the Series 7 exam before applying gives applicants a clear edge. Missouri's network of community colleges and university finance programs also feed rotational development programs at regional banks, and moving laterally from accounting, auditing, or banking operations is a well-worn route into investment teams.
Where can I find and apply to investment jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to investment jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings across firms of all sizes. Find the roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
