Finance Manager Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance manager in Missouri?
The standard Missouri path starts with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration, followed by several years in roles like financial analyst, senior accountant, or accounting manager. Missouri does not require a state-issued license to work as a finance manager, but employers across St. Louis and Kansas City strongly favor candidates who hold a CPA (issued through the Missouri State Board of Accountancy) or a CMA credential. Leadership experience and ERP proficiency typically complete the profile.
Which companies hire finance managers in Missouri?
Missouri finance manager roles are posted by Burns & McDonnell, Cable Dahmer Automotive, and RGA and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, regional healthcare systems, and large manufacturers means openings appear across a wide range of industries and company sizes throughout the state.
Which Missouri cities have the most finance manager jobs?
Kansas City, St. Louis, and O'Fallon hold the greatest concentration of finance manager openings in Missouri. Kansas City's strength in financial services, healthcare, and logistics drives volume there, while St. Louis benefits from a dense cluster of Fortune 500 headquarters and major hospital systems, and Springfield draws openings from regional employers in healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing.
Are there remote finance manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than many fields, given how much of the role centers on analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration that translates well to remote work. About 55% of finance manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader adoption across corporate finance teams. FP&A and financial reporting roles tend to be the most remote-compatible, while cost accounting and plant-level finance positions more often require an on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a finance manager in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a financial analyst or senior accountant role at a Missouri employer, then building toward a manager title internally. Large Kansas City and St. Louis employers, including regional banks, healthcare systems like BJC HealthCare and Children's Mercy, and manufacturers such as Emerson Electric, run rotational finance programs and graduate development tracks that accept candidates without direct management experience. Sitting for the CPA exam through the Missouri State Board of Accountancy or pursuing a CMA while in an analyst role significantly accelerates the path.
Where can I find and apply to finance manager jobs in Missouri?
Migrate Mate lists current finance manager openings in Missouri. Search the roles available, identify the ones that match your background and location preference, and apply directly to the positions that fit. New listings are added regularly, so checking back frequently gives you the best view of what is actively open across the state.
