Senior Payment Operations Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior payment operations specialist in Texas?
Most senior payment operations specialists in Texas reach the role through a combination of a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration and several years in payment processing, treasury, or banking operations. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers consistently favor candidates who have earned the Accredited ACH Professional credential through Nacha or the Certified Treasury Professional designation. Starting in an operations analyst or payment processing associate role at a Texas bank or fintech company is the most common path upward.
Which companies hire senior payment operations specialists in Texas?
Employers hiring senior payment operations specialists in Texas right now include Scotiabank, HEB, and Visa, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's dense concentration of regional banks, national financial institutions, and large corporate treasury departments in Dallas and Houston keeps demand for this role steady year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most senior payment operations specialist jobs?
The cities with the most senior payment operations specialist openings in Texas are Dallas, Austin, and Fort Worth. Dallas and Houston lead because they host the Texas headquarters of major banks, payment processors, and large corporate finance teams, while Austin's growing fintech sector adds a meaningful share of openings concentrated among technology-forward financial services companies.

Yes, and more than most finance roles allow, since much of the work involves digital systems and data rather than physical presence. About 0% of senior payment operations specialist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the role. Reconciliation oversight, exception management, and compliance monitoring are the functions most commonly offered on a remote or hybrid basis.
How can I get hired as a senior payment operations specialist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a payment processing associate or operations analyst role at a Texas bank, credit union, or regional payments company, where you build hands-on knowledge of ACH, wire, and card settlement workflows. Large Texas financial institutions and corporate treasury departments at companies headquartered in Dallas and Houston often hire for these entry roles as a pipeline to senior positions. Earning the Nacha Accredited ACH Professional credential early signals commitment and helps candidates stand out against more experienced applicants. Lateral moves from accounts payable, general ledger reconciliation, or cash management roles are also well-established routes.
