Senior Property Accountant Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior property accountant in Arkansas?
The concrete path starts with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, followed by sitting for the CPA exam administered through the Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy, which oversees licensure for accounting professionals in the state. Most employers in Arkansas expect candidates at the senior level to hold an active CPA license or be actively pursuing one. Alongside licensure, several years of hands-on property or real estate accounting experience, ideally with exposure to Arkansas's commercial or multifamily markets, rounds out a competitive profile.
How much do senior property accountants make in Arkansas?
Senior property accountants in Arkansas earn a median of about $66,330 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,810 for the lowest 10% to over $119,520 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior property accountants in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring senior property accountants in Arkansas include Walmart, SD Corporation, and Arkansas Talent, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's concentration of large retail, healthcare, and commercial real estate portfolios means ongoing demand from both corporate real estate departments and regional property management firms headquartered in Little Rock and the Northwest Arkansas corridor.
Which Arkansas cities have the most senior property accountant jobs?
Little Rock, Bentonville, and Rogers consistently show the most senior property accountant openings in Arkansas. Little Rock drives demand as the state capital and its largest commercial real estate market, while the Fayetteville and Bentonville area reflects the dense concentration of corporate campuses, retail properties, and supplier-related facilities tied to Walmart's global headquarters in Bentonville.
Are there remote senior property accountant jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, and more than most accounting specialties, since the work centers on financial reporting and analysis rather than on-site property inspection. About 15% of senior property accountant openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of the role. Lease accounting, CAM reconciliation reviews, and financial statement preparation are the functions most commonly performed remotely, while month-end close coordination and lender reporting may still require in-office presence at some Arkansas employers.
How can I get hired as a senior property accountant in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a staff or junior property accountant at a regional property management company or REIT with Arkansas holdings, then building toward the senior level over several years. Arkansas-based firms managing multifamily and commercial portfolios in the Little Rock and Northwest Arkansas markets regularly bring on associates from general accounting or audit backgrounds. Earning your CPA through the Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy and gaining exposure to Yardi or MRI software, even in a support or AP role, accelerates the transition significantly.
Where can I find and apply to senior property accountant jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to senior property accountant jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience and the Arkansas markets you want to work in, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
