Many North Dakota employers also value cloud certifications from AWS or Microsoft as evidence of current skills.
How much do senior software engineerings make in North Dakota?
Senior software engineerings in North Dakota earn a median of about $105,600 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,900 for the lowest 10% to over $158,060 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.

The most realistic entry path is a junior or associate software engineer role, where you build the track of production experience that North Dakota employers require at the senior level.
