Solutions Analyst Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions analyst in Illinois?
A bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or a related field is the standard entry point for solutions analyst roles in Illinois. There is no state-issued license required for this role. Illinois employers, particularly those in the Chicago financial and technology corridors, typically prioritize candidates who pair their degree with hands-on experience in business analysis, systems implementation, or a relevant technical domain such as ERP or CRM platforms.
How much do solutions analysts make in Illinois?
Solutions analysts in Illinois earn a median of about $101,570 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,770 for the lowest 10% to over $144,790 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire solutions analysts in Illinois?
Employers hiring solutions analysts in Illinois right now include Orix, SS&C, and Optum, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Illinois's dense concentration of insurance carriers, financial institutions, and management consulting firms in the Chicago metro makes it one of the more active states for this role year-round.
Which Illinois cities have the most solutions analyst jobs?
Chicago, Itasca, and Mattoon have the most solutions analyst openings in Illinois. Chicago leads because it serves as the corporate headquarters hub for major financial services, healthcare, and professional services firms, while Naperville and Schaumburg contribute strong demand through the large technology and insurance employers headquartered in Chicago's western suburbs.
Are there remote solutions analyst jobs in Illinois?
Yes, and more than most fields. Solutions analyst work is primarily desk-based and collaborative rather than hands-on or location-dependent, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 43% of solutions analyst openings tied to Illinois are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how widely Illinois employers in finance and technology have embraced flexible work models. Requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder meetings are the tasks most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a solutions analyst in Illinois with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a related business or technical support role, such as a business analyst associate, IT help desk specialist, or operations coordinator, into a junior solutions analyst position. Large Illinois employers in insurance, consulting, and healthcare IT, including firms headquartered in Chicago and its suburbs, regularly hire associates or rotational analysts through new-graduate programs. Building familiarity with a major ERP or CRM platform and earning a vendor certification such as Salesforce Associate or SAP Certified Associate gives candidates a meaningful edge in Illinois listings.
Where can I find and apply to solutions analyst jobs in Illinois?
You can find and apply to solutions analyst jobs in Illinois on Migrate Mate, which lists current Illinois openings across Chicago, Naperville, Schaumburg, and other markets in the state. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
