Solutions Consultant Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions consultant in Minnesota?
Most Minnesota employers hire solutions consultants with a bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a related field combined with prior experience in sales engineering, account management, or technical support. There is no state-issued license required to work in this role in Minnesota. Candidates who complete vendor certifications, such as those offered by Salesforce, Microsoft, or AWS, consistently stand out in the Twin Cities and broader Minnesota market.
Which companies hire solutions consultants in Minnesota?
Minnesota solutions consultant roles are posted by U.S. Bank, Palo Alto Networks, and Securian Financial and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major health systems, and agricultural technology companies makes it one of the more diversified states for solutions consultant hiring outside of coastal tech hubs.
Which Minnesota cities have the most solutions consultant jobs?
Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Plymouth have the most solutions consultant openings in Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro drives the majority of postings because of its dense concentration of enterprise technology vendors, financial services firms, and health insurance and healthcare IT companies, while Rochester benefits from the strong pull of large medical and life sciences employers anchored in that region.
Are there remote solutions consultant jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of solutions consultant openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, reflecting that much of the role involves software demonstrations, discovery calls, and proposal work that translates well to a distributed setup. The portions most likely to remain on-site are kickoff meetings, enterprise client workshops, and implementation go-lives.
How can I get hired as a solutions consultant in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a technical support, inside sales, or business analyst role into a junior solutions consultant or sales development position. Large Minnesota employers like Optum, Thomson Reuters, and Cargill run rotational and associate programs that onboard candidates from adjacent roles. Building a product demo portfolio and earning a vendor certification in Salesforce or Microsoft Azure gives early-career candidates a concrete edge when applying at Minnesota's many enterprise software and managed services firms.
