JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will serve K-5 grade students at Great Hearts Lincoln: 2250 S Gilbert Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286

The Exceptional Student Services (Special Education) Teacher will:

• Plan and provide specially designed instruction to students receiving special education and related services.
• Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff in the implementation of accommodations and modifications.
• Draft and maintain IEPs, Prior Written Notices, and potentially evaluation paperwork, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Plan and facilitate meetings throughout the special education process.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents, staff, and administrative staff regarding student planning and progress.
• Manage the transition of new enrollees eligible for special education and related services.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be proficient in the use of technology.
• Great Hearts teachers must also demonstrate a commitment to and love for the liberal arts.

Education/Certification:

• Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid Arizona certification in Special Education (mild to moderate, cross-categorical, learning disability, or intern/alternative).
• A current Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.

Experience:

• 1 year of successful teaching experience (preferably in a K-12 school setting).
• 1 year of successful Special Education teaching experience (preferred).
• The ideal candidate has previous experience in Special Education.

Pay: $48,370.00 - $68,000.00 per year
