JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will serve K-5 grade students at Great Hearts Lincoln: 2250 S Gilbert Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286
The Exceptional Student Services (Special Education) Teacher will:
- Plan and provide specially designed instruction to students receiving special education and related services.
- Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff in the implementation of accommodations and modifications.
- Draft and maintain IEPs, Prior Written Notices, and potentially evaluation paperwork, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Plan and facilitate meetings throughout the special education process.
- Communicate and collaborate with parents, staff, and administrative staff regarding student planning and progress.
- Manage the transition of new enrollees eligible for special education and related services.

Qualifications
- Candidates must be proficient in the use of technology.
- Great Hearts teachers must also demonstrate a commitment to and love for the liberal arts.
Education/Certification:
- Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid Arizona certification in Special Education (mild to moderate, cross-categorical, learning disability, or intern/alternative).
- A current Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Experience:
- 1 year of successful teaching experience (preferably in a K-12 school setting).
- 1 year of successful Special Education teaching experience (preferred).
- The ideal candidate has previous experience in Special Education.
