We are looking for a Strategic Finance & Analytics Manager to strengthen how we understand our business, plan for the future, and turn complex financial and operational information into meaningful action.

This role will help build the next generation of Synergy's financial planning and business analytics capabilities, creating the models, insights, reporting, and decision-support tools that enable leaders to understand performance, anticipate what's ahead, and make better decisions.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-impact role at the intersection of financial planning and analysis, business analytics, and strategic decision support.

You will lead core FP&A activities - including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-range planning - while partnering across the organization to identify trends, evaluate opportunities, understand business drivers, and help leaders make thoughtful, data-informed decisions.

We are looking for more than someone who can build a strong financial model. The right person will be able to interpret what the numbers are telling us, ask the next question, identify what the business needs before being asked, and translate analysis into clear recommendations.

You will be expected to go beyond reporting what happened to understand why it happened, what is likely to happen next, and what the business should consider doing about it.

This role will partner across Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other areas of the organization. You will also help strengthen and scale our financial planning, reporting, and analytical capabilities as the Finance function continues to evolve.

This is a highly hands-on role. The successful candidate will build, own, and continuously improve processes, models, reporting, and analytical capabilities rather than simply maintain existing processes.

What You'll Do

• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.

• Build financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate strategic opportunities and business decisions.

• Develop driver-based financial models that connect operational activity to financial outcomes and improve the accuracy and usefulness of forecasts.

• Analyze financial and operational performance to identify key drivers, risks, trends, and opportunities.

• Turn complex financial and business data into clear, actionable recommendations for the CFO, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners.

• Develop insights into profitability across products, customers, channels, SKUs, and business segments.

• Partner with Sales and Marketing to evaluate performance, pricing, promotions, customer economics, and return on investment.

• Support operational decision-making through inventory, demand planning, supply-chain, margin, and profitability analysis.

• Develop and improve dashboards, KPI scorecards, management reporting, and analytical tools.

• Build scalable processes, models, and templates that give business leaders faster and more reliable access to the information they need.

• Improve the consistency, accessibility, and integrity of financial and operational data.

• Partner with IT and business stakeholders to improve the company's data, BI, and reporting environment, ensuring financial and operational information is accessible, reliable, and decision-useful.

• Partner with leaders across the organization to strengthen data-informed decision-making.

• Challenge assumptions and provide an objective financial perspective to support sound business decisions.

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve how we analyze information, communicate insights, and support the business.

You May Be a Great Fit If You

• Have 7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), strategic finance, business analytics, or a closely related field.

• Bring a strong FP&A foundation and significant experience with budgets, forecasts, financial models, and performance reporting.

• Are highly proficient in financial modeling - but see the model as the beginning of the conversation rather than the end.

• Can analyze large and complex datasets, recognize what matters, and turn findings into practical business recommendations.

• Have experience working in a consumer packaged goods (CPG), manufacturing, e-commerce, retail, or similarly complex operating environment where finance intersects with sales, marketing, products, inventory, and operations.

• Have experience analyzing profitability across customers, products, channels, SKUs, or business segments.

• Understand how sales and marketing initiatives, pricing, promotions, customer economics, and operational decisions affect financial performance.

• Are comfortable working within ERP, CRM, business intelligence, and reporting environments.

• Have experience improving FP&A processes, management reporting, dashboards, or financial and operational data models.

• Are able to independently structure ambiguous business questions, determine the appropriate analysis, and develop actionable recommendations.

• Communicate complex information clearly and credibly to both financial and non-financial audiences.

• Hold a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.

Experience with ERP implementations, system integrations, finance transformation, data governance, or business intelligence initiatives is a plus.

Experience in dietary supplements, natural products, consumer health, or other mission-driven consumer products would be valuable, but is not required.

Location & Travel

This is a remote position available to candidates located in states where The Synergy Company is currently authorized to employ remote team members. Preference may be given to candidates located in the Mountain West, particularly Utah, Colorado, or Wyoming.

Periodic travel to our headquarters in Moab, Utah will be required for company gatherings, planning sessions, and in-person collaboration. We currently anticipate approximately four trips per year, although travel may vary depending on business needs.

This position generally works during normal business hours aligned with Mountain Time, with some schedule flexibility.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $125,000–$155,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
