Strategy Intern Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy intern in Maryland?
The most direct path is enrolling in a business, economics, public policy, or related undergraduate or graduate program at a Maryland institution such as the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins, or University of Baltimore. Maryland does not require a state-issued license for strategy intern roles. Employers look for coursework in strategic analysis, finance, or operations combined with internship or project experience, and a demonstrated interest in the industry you are targeting, whether defense, healthcare, or consulting.
Which companies hire strategy interns in Maryland?
Employers hiring strategy interns in Maryland right now include Marriott International, Johns Hopkins University, and University of Maryland Medical System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maryland's concentration of defense contractors, federal consulting firms, and large health systems means strategy intern openings tend to appear across a wider range of organization types than in most states.
Which Maryland cities have the most strategy intern jobs?
The cities with the most strategy intern openings in Maryland are Baltimore, Bethesda, and Rockville. The distribution reflects Baltimore's strength as a hub for healthcare systems and universities, the Bethesda and Rockville corridor's density of federal agencies and consulting firms, and Annapolis's role as a center for government and policy-adjacent organizations.
Are there remote strategy intern jobs in Maryland?
Yes, and more than many internship categories, because strategy work is largely desk-based and analytical. About 70% of strategy intern openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the strong consulting and federal contracting presence in the region. Research, modeling, and presentation preparation tend to be the tasks most readily performed remotely, while client-facing project work and stakeholder briefings typically require in-person attendance.
How can I get hired as a strategy intern in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is applying to summer internship programs run by large Maryland employers such as Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, or the Johns Hopkins Health System, which recruit current students with no prior full-time experience. Lateral moves from adjacent roles in research assistance, financial analysis, or program coordination also open the door. Building a project portfolio through case competitions, university consulting groups, or policy clinics at Maryland institutions gives candidates a clear advantage when experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to strategy intern jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to strategy intern jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your background, skills, and availability, then apply directly to the ones that fit. No account creation is required to see and apply to openings.
