Job Summary
Advance Auto Parts is seeking a high performing candidate to join our Supply Chain Strategy & Transformation team. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role responsible for driving analytical insights, strategic initiatives, and transformational change across our end-to-end supply chain.
This role is ideal for a self-driven problem solver who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys breaking down complex business problems, and is motivated by measurable business impact. You will work closely with supply chain leadership and cross-functional partners to shape strategy, develop scalable solutions, and enable data-driven decision making that improves performance today while building the supply chain capabilities of the future.
The Senior Supply Chain Analyst will play a critical role in turning data into insight, insight into strategy, and strategy into execution.
What Will You Do?
Strategy & Transformation
- Support the development and execution of multi-year supply chain strategies aligned to enterprise objectives.
- Identify high-impact opportunities across network design, replenishment, transportation, and fulfillment to improve cost, service, and working capital.
- Translate broad strategic objectives into structured analyses, actionable recommendations, and executable roadmaps.
- Partner with Supply Chain Transformation leaders to design, test, and scale new processes, capabilities, and decision frameworks.
Analytical Problem Solving & Business Impact
- Tackle open-ended and ambiguous supply chain problems using a structured, hypothesis-driven approach.
- Independently define problem statements, determine appropriate analyses, and work through incomplete or imperfect data.
- Build advanced analytical models to quantify opportunities, tradeoffs, and risks.
- Measure impact, track results, and continuously refine recommendations based on performance.
Advanced Data & Analytics
- Leverage large, complex data sets to uncover trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities across the supply chain.
- Apply strong SQL skills and advanced analytics to extract, transform, and analyze data across multiple systems.
- Develop scalable analytical tools, dashboards, and models to support ongoing decision-making.
- Collaborate with data, IT, and analytics teams to improve data quality, accessibility, and analytical capabilities.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Influence
- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Inventory, Merchandising, Finance, Technology, and Operations teams.
- Communicate insights clearly and effectively to audiences ranging from analysts to senior leaders.
- Explain not just what the data says, but why it matters and how it should influence decisions.
- Influence without authority by building trust, credibility, and strong business understanding.
What Makes You Successful in This Role?
- You are energized by complex, ambiguous problems and comfortable operating without a predefined playbook.
- You are deeply analytical, but always focused on real-world business outcomes, not just analysis.
- You balance strategic thinking with a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset.
- You are curious, proactive, and driven to make things better—even when the path forward is not obvious.
- You can move seamlessly between data, strategy, and stakeholder communication.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop actionable insights.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of supply chain tradeoffs, financial drivers, and operational impacts.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex analyses and recommendations, including the “why” and “how,” to cross-functional and senior stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL skills required; experience working with large, multi-source datasets.
- Advanced Excel skills; comfort building analytical models and financial impact assessments.
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Python, R) preferred.

Why This Role?
- Opportunity to shape the future of Supply Chain at Advance Auto Parts.
- High visibility and exposure to senior leaders.
- A seat at the table for strategic decision making—not just reporting results.
