Supply Chain Analyst Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a supply chain analyst job in Houston?
Focus your search on Houston's energy corridor, the Texas Medical Center, and the port logistics cluster near the Ship Channel, where demand for supply chain analysts is heaviest. Candidates with experience in oil and gas procurement, refinery inventory management, or medical device distribution stand out locally. Familiarity with SAP or Oracle supply chain modules and a background in chemical or industrial manufacturing gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants in this market.
Which companies hire supply chain analysts in Houston?
Companies currently hiring supply chain analysts in Houston include Amazon, PwC, and Fluor, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Houston's hiring base is especially deep among integrated energy companies, petrochemical producers, port and freight operators, and large health system supply chains.
Are there remote supply chain analyst jobs in Houston?
Yes, though with limits: supply chain analyst roles that are heavily desk-based, such as demand planning, vendor data analysis, and procurement reporting, are far more remote-friendly than roles tied to warehouses, distribution centers, or plant operations. About 9% of supply chain analyst openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. The analytical and reporting side of the role tends to offer the most flexibility in Houston's energy and corporate sector employers.
How can I get a supply chain analyst job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is through operations coordinator or procurement assistant roles at energy companies, freight forwarders along the Ship Channel, or large hospital systems in the Texas Medical Center. Many Houston employers hire analysts from these lateral positions once candidates demonstrate familiarity with ERP systems and basic data analysis. A degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, or business and an internship with a Houston-area company or port operator strengthens your candidacy significantly.
Which industries hire the most supply chain analysts in Houston?
The sectors hiring the most supply chain analysts in Houston are Technology & Software, Energy, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Houston's role as a global energy hub and one of the largest port cities in the country means demand for supply chain analysts is concentrated in industries that depend heavily on complex, high-volume procurement and logistics networks.
