JOB PURPOSE
The Supply Chain Director leads the procurement team in developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives. They will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Additionally, the Supply Chain Director will oversee the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role will demand strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of market dynamics to optimize procurement strategies and drive cost efficiencies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Ownership of inventory and driving KPIs that deliver efficiencies that support the business.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals to ensure improved execution throughout the year.
- Build and maintain relationships with key CandyCo business functions; must be skilled at influencing and executing change management at all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to hold their all levels of the organization as well as our vendors accountable to support the business.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with Leaders of the business and influence decision based on data.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
- Ability to not only identify problems but proactively solve problems within the organization at large.
- Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and delivery.
- Facilitate Supplier Relationship Management through development and tracking of KPI’s while establishing a collaborative environment with key suppliers and business partners to optimize supplier performance and innovation.
- Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement while developing strategies to overcome those challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have at least 10 years of successful track record within procurement and supply chain management.
- Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas to all levels of the organization while fostering effective cross-functional partnerships.
- Must have the ability to drive change in an organization and demonstrate process sustainability methods in all areas of standards implementation.
- Experience in direct procurement within the food and beverage industry Preferred.
- Advanced degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management Preferred.
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management Preferred (e.g., CSCP, CPSM).
- Must have previous people management experience.
- Must have familiarity with international procurement regulations and practices.
- Must be trustworthy, honest, and always maintain a high degree of integrity.
- Must have an excellent Safety record and a champion of our Safety culture.
- Must have strong, positive leadership, communication, and organization skills.
- Bilingual skills preferred, not required (English, Spanish).
- Must have strong PC skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Past job performance must reflect dependability, maturity, initiative, positive personal demeanor, excellent listener, and the ability to exercise good judgement.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work any/all shifts as assigned or required.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including Holidays and/or weekends as required.
Physical Requirements
- A non-slip resistant work shoe.
- Hair restraint, beard net (if needed), and Safety gloves when warranted.
- Lifting at times of up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
