Procurement Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a procurement in Utah?
Most Utah procurement roles require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Public-sector positions with the State of Utah often expect familiarity with the Utah Procurement Code and may prefer candidates with the Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) designation. Private employers commonly look for the CPSM credential from the Institute for Supply Management. Entry-level roles as purchasing assistants or junior buyers are the standard starting point.
Which companies hire procurements in Utah?
Companies currently hiring procurements in Utah include Northrop Grumman, Veterans Trading Company, and First Quality, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Utah's defense contractors, large healthcare networks, and state government agencies are among the most consistent sources of procurement openings across the state.
Which Utah cities have the most procurement jobs?
Salt Lake City, Roy, and Ogden lead Utah for procurement openings. Salt Lake City drives the largest share through its concentration of government agencies, healthcare systems, and corporate headquarters, while Provo and Ogden benefit from major defense and technology manufacturers that maintain substantial in-house supply chain teams.
Are there remote procurement jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields, since much of the work involves contract review, vendor communication, and data analysis that translates well to remote settings. About 60% of procurement openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, though on-site presence is more common for roles tied to warehousing operations or government facilities. Strategic sourcing and contract management positions are the most likely to offer flexible arrangements.
How can I get hired as a procurement in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for purchasing assistant or junior buyer roles at large Utah institutions such as Intermountain Health, the University of Utah, or state agencies within the Division of Finance. These organizations regularly bring in candidates with limited direct procurement experience and train them on internal systems and processes. A lateral move from a role in accounts payable, logistics coordination, or operations gives strong context. Pursuing the CPSM or completing an Institute for Supply Management coursework package while job searching adds a measurable credential edge.
Where can I find and apply to procurement jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to procurement jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Salt Lake City, Provo, Ogden, and other Utah markets. Search the listings by role type or location, find positions that match your background, and apply directly through each listing.
