Surgical Dental Assistant Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a surgical dental assistant job in Dallas?
Dallas hires most heavily through oral and maxillofacial surgery practices, periodontal specialty offices, and large multi-location dental service organizations concentrated in the Medical District, Uptown, and the northern suburbs like Plano and Frisco. Candidates with hands-on surgical assisting experience, instrument sterilization skills, and familiarity with implant or extraction procedures stand out. Networking with Dallas-area dental study clubs and specialty societies also surfaces openings that never reach public job boards.
Which companies hire surgical dental assistants in Dallas?
Dallas surgical dental assistant roles are posted by UT Southwestern Medical Center, Texas Health Resources, and MPOWERHealth and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The Dallas market includes a mix of privately owned specialty practices, corporate dental service organizations with multiple North Texas locations, and hospital-affiliated oral surgery departments.
Are there remote surgical dental assistant jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though remote opportunities are rare given that surgical dental assisting is an inherently hands-on, chairside role. About 14% of surgical dental assistant openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, mostly covering adjacent functions like treatment plan coordination or patient scheduling. Those hybrid duties are most common at larger dental service organizations managing multiple Dallas-area clinic locations.
How can I get a surgical dental assistant job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is joining a general dental practice first, then cross-training into surgical assisting once you have chairside fundamentals. Multi-location dental service organizations in the North Dallas and Las Colinas corridors are known to hire entry-level assistants and rotate them through specialty departments. Completing a Dallas-area dental assisting program, obtaining CPR certification, and expressing clear interest in oral surgery during the interview signals readiness to employers who promote from within.
Which industries hire the most surgical dental assistants in Dallas?
Most surgical dental assistant openings in Dallas sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Agriculture & Farming, and Education, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Dallas's dense concentration of specialty dental clinics, hospital systems with oral surgery departments, and regional headquarters for national dental service organizations drives sustained hiring across those sectors.
