Wellness Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a wellness manager in Texas?
The most direct path in Texas is a bachelor's degree in health promotion, public health, kinesiology, or a related field, followed by a nationally recognized credential such as the Certified Health Education Specialist issued by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing or the Certified Wellness Practitioner through the National Wellness Institute. Texas does not require a state-issued wellness manager license, but large Texas employers in healthcare, insurance, and corporate sectors strongly prefer candidates holding one of these credentials alongside documented program management experience.
Which companies hire wellness managers in Texas?
Companies currently hiring wellness managers in Texas include PNC Financial Services, Aramark, and Banner House at T Bar M, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major hospital networks, and large university systems creates consistent demand for wellness professionals beyond a single industry.
Which Texas cities have the most wellness manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Pampa account for the largest share of wellness manager openings in Texas. Houston's dominance reflects its density of energy-sector corporate campuses and major medical institutions, Dallas draws from a large concentration of financial services and retail headquarters, and Austin's rapid tech-sector growth has pushed employer-sponsored wellness programs to the forefront of talent competition there.
Are there remote wellness manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely analytical fields because wellness managers frequently lead on-site screenings, fitness programming, and in-person employee engagement events. About 0% of wellness manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting that some program administration and vendor management work can shift off-site. Roles focused on data analysis, benefits coordination, and digital health platform management are the most likely to carry a remote or hybrid arrangement.
How can I get hired as a wellness manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an associate or wellness coordinator role at a large Texas hospital system or corporate employer, where you support program logistics before advancing to management. Baylor Scott & White Health, Texas Health Resources, and major Austin and Dallas tech campuses regularly bring on health educators and wellness coordinators who move into management after gaining on-site experience. Completing the Certified Health Education Specialist exam before applying, or holding a practicum from a Texas public health program, gives candidates a measurable edge over others at the entry level.
Where can I find and apply to wellness manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to wellness manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across corporate, healthcare, and university employers. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
