Tax Manager Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a tax manager job in Dallas?
The strongest path into a Dallas tax manager role is through the city's dense professional services sector, where large regional CPA firms and Big Four offices in Uptown and the Arts District hire regularly. Candidates with corporate tax compliance, ASC 740 experience, or energy-sector tax work stand out most in this market. Targeting roles at Dallas-headquartered energy companies, private equity-backed firms, and regional banks sharpens your chances against a competitive applicant pool.
Which companies hire tax managers in Dallas?
Dallas tax manager roles are posted by Deloitte, KPMG, and Weaver and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The Dallas market draws from a wide mix of publicly traded corporations, regional accounting firms, and financial services companies, many of which maintain large in-house tax departments downtown and in the Las Colinas and Frisco corridors.
Are there remote tax manager jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though tax manager roles tend to be less fully remote than other finance positions because of hands-on collaboration with legal, finance, and audit teams. About 24% of tax manager openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting a market that leans toward hybrid arrangements rather than fully on-site schedules. Tax compliance and research work transfers most readily to remote days, while provision and audit support roles typically require more in-office presence.
How can I get a tax manager job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through a senior tax associate or tax senior role at one of the regional or national CPA firms headquartered or with large offices in Uptown, then stepping into a manager title after two to three years. Dallas-area companies with active rotational finance programs, including energy firms along the North Dallas Tollway, also promote from within. Holding a CPA license and exposure to OneSource or CorpTax software accelerates that move considerably in this market.
Which industries hire the most tax managers in Dallas?
Most tax manager openings in Dallas sit in Accounting & Auditing, Consulting & Professional Services, and Investment & Asset Management, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's role as a headquarters city for major energy producers, financial services firms, and real estate investment trusts creates concentrated, recurring demand for tax managers who understand the complexity those sectors generate.
