Tax Senior Manager Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a tax senior manager in Oklahoma?
Most tax senior managers in Oklahoma follow a path that begins with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, passes through the CPA exam, and builds through years of public accounting or corporate tax work. The Oklahoma Accountancy Board issues and governs CPA licensure in the state, requiring candidates to meet education, examination, and experience standards before receiving an active license. Firms in Oklahoma City and Tulsa typically promote into senior manager roles after a candidate has led engagements, supervised staff, and developed a specialty such as oil and gas taxation or multi-state compliance.
How much do tax senior managers make in Oklahoma?
Tax senior managers in Oklahoma earn a median of about $79,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,670 for the lowest 10% to over $155,480 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire tax senior managers in Oklahoma?
Employers hiring tax senior managers in Oklahoma right now include TALNT, Weaver, and Eide Bailly, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oklahoma's energy sector, regional banking institutions, and national public accounting firms with Tulsa and Oklahoma City offices generate the most consistent openings at this level.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most tax senior manager jobs?
Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Norman account for the largest share of tax senior manager openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City anchors demand through its concentration of corporate headquarters, energy companies, and large regional professional services offices, while Tulsa draws hiring from oil and gas producers, midstream operators, and established accounting firms that serve the northeastern corridor of the state.
Are there remote tax senior manager jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, and more than most fields. Tax senior manager work is heavily analytical and document-driven, making it well suited to remote or hybrid arrangements. About 40% of tax senior manager openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed the talent pool has become since firms expanded flexible work policies. Client advisory work and team reviews are the functions most commonly kept in-office, while compliance preparation and research often move fully remote.
How can I get hired as a tax senior manager in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a staff or senior associate tax role at one of the regional or national public accounting firms with Oklahoma City or Tulsa offices, where structured progression tracks exist from associate through manager levels. BOK Financial, ONEOK, and large firms including regional offices of national practices regularly bring in candidates at the associate level who hold or are actively pursuing CPA licensure through the Oklahoma Accountancy Board. Building a specialty early, such as oil and gas or pass-through entity taxation, accelerates promotion into senior manager consideration and differentiates candidates in Oklahoma's market.
Where can I find and apply to tax senior manager jobs in Oklahoma?
You can find and apply to tax senior manager jobs in Oklahoma on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and the broader state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and specialization, and apply directly through each listing.
