Essential Responsibility:
- This position is responsible for understanding, practicing and training others on basic manufacturing fundamentals. Improves Manufacturing Functions by assisting the departmental supervisor in running the daily production operations; by troubleshooting machines; by assisting Supervisor or other Team Leader with quality continuous improvement activities; by meeting or exceeding the daily production targets; by using the basic principle of SPC techniques; by troubleshooting all manufacturing procedures; by creating standard operating procedures (SOP), troubleshooting guides, etc; and by being able to perform departmental tests as needed or directed by departmental supervisor and/or manager.
List of Key Tasks / Primary Responsibilities:
Improves Manufacturing Functions by assisting the departmental supervisor in running the daily production operations; by troubleshooting machines; by assisting Supervisor or other Team Leader with quality continuous improvement activities; by meeting or exceeding the daily production targets; by using the basic principle of SPC techniques; by troubleshooting all manufacturing procedures; by creating standard operating procedures (SOP), troubleshooting guides, etc; and by being able to perform departmental tests as needed or directed by departmental supervisor and/or manager.
Maintains Safety by wearing proper PPE, by identifying and reporting potential safety hazards; by maintaining the work area using the principles of 5S; by taking appropriate action when unusual occurrence happens and by taking appropriate action during a fire, power outage or severe weather condition.
Directs Staff by carrying out the creating production operations schedules as directed by the departmental supervisor; by communicating with Staff production assignments; and by training Staff on manufacturing techniques.
Maintains Documentation by completing all necessary documentation in a clear and timely manner.
Manages Time and Resources by using tools provided by the Company in order to maximize productivity and to accomplish tasks on time.
Keeps Management Informed by participating in meetings; and by reporting problems to Management verbally or in writing in order to avoid confusion and further problems.
Performs Other Duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
Upholds Standards of Quality, Cost, and Safety by following the Company's standards and guidelines for maintaining quality, cost, and safety; by taking initiative to make these points top priority at the Company; by immediately reporting any conditions that do not uphold the standards of quality, cost, and safety to the Supervisor or Management; and by making suggestions for necessary improvements to uphold these standards as necessary.
Contributes to the Team Effort by consistently achieving individual goals in order to contribute to the achievement of departmental and Company goals; by being flexible in work assignments; by covering for other Staff as needed; by accomplishing related tasks when requested; by being open to feedback from peers, Supervisors, and Management; and by using the feedback to improve performance.
Maintains Professional and Technical Knowledge by attaining job-related certification as necessary; by seeking out job-related training in order to improve personal skills, as well as efficiency and knowledge in the workplace; and by applying that knowledge to the job.
Upholds Professionalism in the Workplace by maintaining professional conduct and appearance; by realizing one's own limitations and seeking assistance when needed; and by using established communication channels.
Education /Certifications & Experience:
- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be High school diploma or equivalent. Staff Member should have experience in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, forms and instructions in English.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English.
- Ability to effectively respond to questions in English.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Ability to apply knowledge and sense of understanding to carry-out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to analyze reports such as production reports., etc.
Additional Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to use a computer as needed.
- Must be tactful, mature, flexible and able to successfully respond to multiple work pressures.
- Must have basic fundamental supervisory skills and management experience.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk, in office or Plant duties
- A full range of motion to see, hear, touch, and to observe documents at the office or materials in the Plant
- Ordinary vision and hearing for communication and observation;
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
