Technical Project Manager Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a technical project manager job in Houston?
Houston's strongest hiring comes from energy companies in the Energy Corridor, healthcare systems in the Texas Medical Center, and engineering and construction firms citywide. Candidates who stand out typically combine a PMP or PMI-ACP certification with hands-on experience in Agile or stage-gate project delivery. Familiarity with EPC workflows, oilfield software, or healthcare IT systems gives you a real edge with Houston employers over generalist project management backgrounds.
Which companies hire technical project managers in Houston?
Houston technical project manager roles are posted by Barrios Technology, WSP, and Amentum and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Houston's market is especially active with large energy operators, integrated health systems, and engineering and construction firms that run complex, multi-phase capital projects requiring dedicated technical project leadership.
Are there remote technical project manager jobs in Houston?

How can I get a technical project manager job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is moving into a junior project coordinator or PMO analyst role at a mid-size engineering firm, regional health system, or energy services company, which regularly hire candidates without extensive experience. Earning a CAPM certification and building familiarity with tools like MS Project or Jira strengthens your application.
