Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Clinical Consultant
Align your credentials to management consultant criteria
TN status for Clinical Consultants is approved under the management consultant category, not a clinical license category. Your application needs to show a baccalaureate degree in a business or health-related field, not just a clinical credential.
Document your consultative scope before applying
Employers experienced with visa sponsorship typically require a support letter that frames your Clinical Consultant role as advisory, not direct patient care. Gather project summaries, client-facing deliverables, or performance improvement reports that demonstrate a consulting, not operational, function.
Target employers with existing USMCA hiring infrastructure
Hospitals, managed care organizations, and health IT firms that already employ TN workers understand the support letter requirements. Searching for Clinical Consultant roles at employers with documented USMCA hiring patterns shortens your time to offer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for TN-sponsoring employers
Search Clinical Consultant openings on Migrate Mate to surface employers actively sponsoring TN visas. Filtering by TN eligibility up front means you're only pursuing roles where the sponsorship infrastructure already exists.
Clarify port-of-entry processing with Canadian citizenship
Canadian citizens can obtain TN status at the land border or airport without a visa stamp. Bring your job offer letter, degree transcripts, and professional resume to the CBP officer. Mexican citizens require a TN visa from a U.S. consulate before traveling.
Negotiate employer responsibility for the support letter
The TN support letter is the employer's document, not yours, and it must specify your consulting duties, your degree's relevance, and the engagement timeline. Confirm during the offer stage that HR or legal counsel will prepare this, not expect you to draft it.

Find Clinical Consultant JobsClinical Consultant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Clinical Consultant role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, Clinical Consultant roles can qualify under the TN management consultant category when the position involves advisory or analytical work rather than direct clinical service delivery. The employer's support letter must describe duties like utilization review, care pathway analysis, or clinical operations consulting. Roles with hands-on patient care as the primary function are unlikely to qualify under this category.
How does the TN visa compare to the H-1B for Clinical Consultant positions?
The TN visa has no annual cap and no lottery, so Canadian professionals can obtain status at a port of entry without waiting for a selection cycle. The H-1B requires employer sponsorship months in advance, lottery selection, and USCIS adjudication. TN status is also renewed indefinitely in three-year increments, making it a more predictable path for Clinical Consultants who qualify under the management consultant category.
Where can I find Clinical Consultant jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Clinical Consultant roles from employers who actively sponsor TN visas, so you can filter your search to positions where the hiring team already understands USMCA requirements. Searching through general job platforms often surfaces roles where TN sponsorship hasn't been confirmed, adding friction to the process.
What documentation does my employer need to sponsor my TN visa as a Clinical Consultant?
Your employer provides a support letter on company letterhead that describes the consulting nature of your role, confirms your baccalaureate degree is relevant to the position, states the anticipated duration, and lists your expected professional activities. You bring this letter, your degree transcripts, and government-issued identification. Canadian citizens present these documents to a CBP officer at the port of entry; Mexican citizens use them at a U.S. consulate.
Can my employer extend my TN status if the Clinical Consultant engagement continues?
TN status is granted in three-year increments and can be extended without limit as long as you maintain a qualifying job offer and nonimmigrant intent. Your employer files an extension by submitting a new support letter and an I-129 petition with USCIS, or Canadian citizens can re-enter at the border with updated documentation. Extensions aren't automatic, so coordinate with your employer before your current status expires.
