Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Head Of Business Operations
Frame your credentials around USMCA categories
TN approval depends on matching your role to a recognized USMCA occupation. Document how your degree and responsibilities align to Management Consultant or Computer Systems Analyst criteria before targeting employers, since CBP officers evaluate the offer letter against those definitions.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Companies experienced with visa sponsorship already have HR processes and immigration counsel in place. Look for employers with recent visa filings in management or operations roles to identify organizations ready to sponsor work visas. These employers demonstrate familiarity with the sponsorship process and typically have established procedures to support qualified candidates.
Request a precise offer letter covering CBP requirements
Your offer letter must specify your title, duties, Canadian or Mexican citizenship, degree field, and that the role is temporary. Vague language about strategic leadership without operational specifics gives CBP officers grounds to question specialty occupation status.
Understand how Mexican citizen processing differs
Mexican nationals cannot apply at a port of entry and must schedule a consular interview. Factor in consulate wait times when negotiating your start date with the employer, since TN for Mexican citizens is capped at 5,500 approvals annually.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-sponsoring employers
Filtering job searches by visa sponsorship type saves time when you need employers already open to TN candidates. Migrate Mate lets you search Head of Business Operations roles by sponsorship eligibility so you reach decision-makers who understand TN requirements.
Prepare for TN renewal before your three-year term ends
TN status is granted in three-year increments with no cap on renewals, but each renewal requires a fresh offer letter and supporting documents. Confirm your employer's intent to renew before year two so there's no gap in authorized status during filing.

Find Head Of Business Operations JobsHead Of Business Operations TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Head of Business Operations role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
It can qualify, but the job duties must align with a recognized USMCA occupation category such as Management Consultant or Computer Systems Analyst. CBP evaluates the specific responsibilities in your offer letter, not just the title. Roles focused on organizational strategy, process improvement, and systems oversight generally align well, while generalist administrative positions are harder to qualify.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Head of Business Operations positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can be approved at the port of entry the same day. H-1B requires an April lottery, a six-month wait for October 1 start dates, and USCIS adjudication that can take months even with premium processing. For senior operations hires with a concrete start date, TN is a significantly faster path when the role qualifies under USMCA categories.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a detailed offer letter on company letterhead that specifies your job title, a description of duties, your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, your qualifying degree, the temporary nature of the position, and the intended duration. For Mexican nationals, the employer may also need to support the DS-160 and consular interview preparation. The offer letter is the central document CBP or the consulate evaluates.
Where can I find Head of Business Operations jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. roles under USMCA visa categories, including TN. You can filter by TN visa sponsorship so you're only seeing employers who have indicated openness to sponsoring your status, which cuts out the guesswork of cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with TN requirements.
Can I switch employers on a TN visa if a better Head of Business Operations role comes up?
Yes, but TN status is tied to a specific employer and position. If you accept a new role, your new employer must support a fresh TN application before you begin work. Canadians can apply at the port of entry with the new offer letter, while Mexican nationals must return to a consulate. There is no formal portability provision like the one available under H-1B via AC21.
