Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an Office Manager
Reframe your resume for specialty occupation
Office Manager titles vary widely. Emphasize analytical and project management functions over administrative ones. Duties like budgeting, vendor contract management, and process optimization strengthen the case that your role requires specialized knowledge, not just coordination.
Target employers already familiar with USMCA hiring
Companies with Canadian or Mexican employees on TN status have already worked through the visa sponsorship process. Their HR teams won't need convincing that sponsorship is feasible, which shortens your negotiation at the offer stage.
Verify your employer will sign a support letter
TN applications require a detailed employer support letter describing your duties, your qualifications, and the USMCA category being claimed. Confirm the hiring manager and legal team are aligned on this requirement before accepting an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-ready Office Manager openings
Migrate Mate filters job listings by TN visa sponsorship history, so you're applying to employers who have already navigated this process. Search specifically for Office Manager roles with active USMCA sponsorship rather than sorting through general postings.
Prepare for category scrutiny at the border
CBP officers sometimes question whether Office Manager duties meet the Management Consultant standard. Bring your degree transcripts, a detailed job offer letter, and documentation of analytical responsibilities. Mexican nationals should expect this at their consular interview instead.
Understand how status extensions work before day one
TN status is granted in three-year increments with unlimited renewals. Your employer can file an extension through USCIS or you can exit and re-enter at a Canadian or Mexican port of entry. Clarify which method your employer prefers during onboarding.

Find Office Manager JobsOffice Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Office Manager job title qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
It depends on how the role is structured. TN visas don't list Office Manager as a standalone category, but many Office Manager positions qualify under the Management Consultant category when the duties involve applying specialized management principles to organizational problems. Generic administrative oversight typically doesn't qualify. Your employer's support letter must frame the role accurately to survive CBP review.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Office Manager roles?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start working as soon as your application is approved, often the same day at the port of entry. H-1B requires lottery selection, an October 1 start date, and months of waiting. For Mexicans, TN still requires a consular appointment but avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Both require employer sponsorship, but TN is faster and more predictable for this role.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a support letter on company letterhead that identifies the USMCA professional category, describes your specific duties and how they require specialized knowledge, states your salary, and confirms the temporary nature of the engagement. The letter is not filed with any agency in advance but is presented at the port of entry (for Canadian citizens) or U.S. consulate (for Mexican citizens). No government filing or pre-approval is required before you apply.
Where can I find Office Manager jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN visa job seekers and filters listings by employers with active USMCA sponsorship history. Searching there means you're targeting companies that understand the process and have already committed to sponsoring TN status, rather than approaching employers who may not know what TN sponsorship involves or whether your role qualifies.
Can a Mexican citizen apply for a TN visa for an Office Manager role the same way a Canadian can?
No. Canadian citizens apply directly at a U.S. port of entry and can receive TN status the same day if approved. Mexican citizens must apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate in Mexico, which requires scheduling an appointment and waiting for visa issuance before traveling to the U.S. Both nationalities need the same employer documentation, but the process and timeline differ significantly.
