American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a SICU/Step Down position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Details
- Surgical Intensive Care Unit with floating to Step Down as needed
- 3x12 Night shift schedule (19:00-7:00)
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR used, experience required
- Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching hospital setting
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Experience with airway management, IV drips, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Skills in arterial line management, central line care, ventilator care, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration, and dysrhythmia management/interpretation
- Previous charge experience preferred
- 1 professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide care for ICU and step down patients, including those with complex multisystem conditions
- Participate in isolation precautions and PPE protocols as required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered (local candidates not accepted)
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- May be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
