Travel Registered Nurse Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a travel registered nurse in Nevada?
You become a travel registered nurse in Nevada by holding an active RN license issued or recognized by the Nevada State Board of Nursing. You must pass the NCLEX-RN, graduate from an accredited nursing program, and meet the Board's application requirements. Nevada participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact, so nurses holding a Compact license from another participating state can work in Nevada without obtaining a separate state license.
How much do travel registered nurses make in Nevada?
Travel registered nurses in Nevada earn a median of about $103,670 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,500 for the lowest 10% to over $133,270 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire travel registered nurses in Nevada?
Companies currently hiring travel registered nurses in Nevada include American Traveler, Premiere Healthcare Staffing, and Voyage Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's large resort-adjacent medical centers and regional health systems post contract RN roles continuously to handle the state's unpredictable patient census tied to tourism and seasonal population shifts.
Which Nevada cities have the most travel registered nurse jobs?
Reno, Las Vegas, and Elko have the most travel registered nurse openings in Nevada. Las Vegas drives the largest share because of its dense concentration of acute care hospitals serving both residents and millions of annual visitors, while Reno's growing population and Renown Health's regional hub status sustain strong demand in northern Nevada, and Henderson's expanding suburban hospital network adds a steady stream of contract roles.
How can I get hired as a travel registered nurse in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a nurse residency or new-graduate transition program at a Nevada acute care facility before pursuing travel contracts. Valley Health System and Renown Health both run structured new-grad residency programs in Las Vegas and Reno that build the specialty experience staffing agencies require. Starting in a permanent med-surg or float pool role at a Nevada hospital, then moving to travel contracts after building at least a year of acute care hours, is the path most new Nevada RNs take. Holding a current ACLS certification and completing your Nevada State Board of Nursing licensure promptly strengthens any entry-level application.
Where can I find and apply to travel registered nurse jobs in Nevada?
