Massachusetts has no state-issued license specific to this role, but employers in regulated sectors such as financial services may require FINRA registrations or HIPAA familiarity. Candidates who have led teams in Boston's technology corridor or the Route 128 life sciences belt carry a distinct advantage in local hiring.
How much do vice president saleses make in Massachusetts?
Vice president saleses in Massachusetts earn a median of about $191,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $100,510 for the lowest 10% to over $321,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire vice president saless in Massachusetts?

Massachusetts's concentration of biotech, enterprise software, and asset management firms means many of these openings carry national or global territory responsibility based out of the Boston metro.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most vice president sales jobs?
The cities with the most vice president sales openings in Massachusetts are Boston, Cambridge, and Quincy. About 68% of vice president sales openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how common distributed sales organizations have become. The most remote-friendly sub-areas tend to be enterprise SaaS and financial product sales, where client relationships are managed digitally and teams operate across multiple time zones.
How can I get hired as a vice president sales in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up through a director of sales or regional sales manager role at a Massachusetts company before stepping into a VP title. Large employers in the Boston technology and life sciences ecosystem, including companies headquartered along the Route 128 corridor, regularly hire sales managers and senior account executives who can grow into leadership over two to three years. Building expertise in a high-growth sector such as medtech or enterprise SaaS, paired with demonstrated team management, makes the transition more competitive without a prior VP title on your resume.
