The University of South Alabama’s Athletics department is seeking to hire a Coordinator, Olympic Sports Equipment. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
- Maintains responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the equipment room(s) for assigned sports.
- Provides exceptional customer service to coaches, student-athletes, team operations personnel, and athletic staff members.
- Coordinates with coaches and team operations personnel regarding the ordering and procurement of athletic apparel, footwear, equipment, and related supplies for assigned sport programs in accordance with institutional, State, Sun Belt Conference, and NCAA guidelines.
- Serves as the primary point of contact with approved vendors regarding product availability, pricing, timelines, and order status.
- Monitors and tracks orders from placement through delivery to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Resolves order discrepancies, shipping issues, backorders, returns, and vendor-related concerns.
- Receives, inspects and verifies incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Maintains comprehensive inventory control systems for all equipment and apparel for assigned sports, including ordering, receiving, issuance, tracking, maintenance, repair, reconditioning, and replacement schedule.
- Assists coaches and team operations personnel throughout the apparel embellishment process, including artwork coordination, logo placement, sizing, and order approvals.
- Collaborates with licensing, branding, and vendor partners to ensure compliance with university and athletic department brand standards.
- Tracks apparel promotional budgets for assigned sport programs.
- Monitors apparel and equipment expenditures against departmental and sport-specific budgets.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with equipment manufacturers, apparel providers, vendors, and service contractors.
- Assists team operations personnel for assigned sports with managing locker and equipment room areas and for monitoring and advising on the security of these areas.
- Assists with laundry services of assigned sports, including, but not limited to, game day laundry as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all institutional, Sun Belt Conference, NCAA, NOCSAE, and manufacturer standards regarding equipment safety and usage.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and team travel as required.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
