ABOUT OUR AGENCY:
I opened my agency in 2005, and today I’m proud to lead a strong team of 10. My degree is in finance, so even back in college I knew I wanted to build a business centered around finance, investments, and insurance—and agency ownership was the perfect fit.
I graduated from Southern Miss and am married with two wonderful kids. Community involvement matters to me, and one of the things we enjoy most is hosting lunches for first responders to show our appreciation.
I offer bonus and travel incentives, a Simple IRA, and a healthy work-life balance. I also offer health, dental, and vision benefits, although those are not employer-paid.
When it comes to office culture, I truly believe I have the most awesome team in the company. I look for people who are hungry, humble, and smart—individuals who want to grow, support the team, and contribute to the positive, high-performing environment we’ve built.

Which insurance companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Alabama?
Protective Life Corporation in Birmingham is among the most active insurance employers in Alabama with structured internship programs that have accommodated F-1 CPT students. Regions Insurance, Alfa Insurance, and the Alabama office of large nationals like Travelers and Liberty Mutual have also offered CPT-eligible placements. CPT authorization depends on your school's approval and the role meeting curricular relevance requirements, not solely employer willingness.
Which cities in Alabama have the most insurance F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Birmingham is the clear center of Alabama's insurance industry, hosting the headquarters of Protective Life and a dense concentration of regional carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators. Montgomery has a notable presence through Alfa Insurance's headquarters and state government-adjacent insurance functions. Huntsville's growing financial services sector has produced CPT placements in risk and compliance roles, particularly as the city's corporate base has expanded alongside defense and technology employers.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Roles that connect directly to a degree program's coursework are most likely to receive DSO approval for CPT. In insurance, this typically includes actuarial internships for mathematics or statistics students, underwriting analyst positions for finance or business students, data analytics roles for computer science or information systems students, and risk management placements for students in related graduate programs. Roles that are purely administrative or sales-focused with no academic alignment are less likely to qualify.
How do I find insurance F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Alabama?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, including F-1 CPT, so you can search insurance roles in Alabama without sorting through listings that don't apply to your situation. Beyond Migrate Mate, your university's DSO office often maintains relationships with Alabama employers experienced in CPT paperwork, and career fairs at the University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Business regularly include Protective Life and regional insurance recruiters.
Are there any Alabama-specific or insurance-specific considerations for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Alabama's insurance industry is heavily regulated by the Alabama Department of Insurance, and some licensing requirements for roles like adjusting or producing can complicate internship scope for CPT students who cannot hold a full license during a short placement. Actuarial and analytics roles avoid this issue entirely. Students should also confirm whether their program allows part-time versus full-time CPT, as full-time CPT exceeding 12 months affects OPT eligibility, which matters for post-graduation planning in a state with limited cap-exempt H-1B employers.
