Which companies sponsor visas for service coordinators in Alabama?
Healthcare and rehabilitation employers are among the most active visa sponsors for service coordinators in Alabama. UAB Medicine and Encompass Health, both headquartered in Birmingham, have histories of sponsoring H-1B workers in care coordination and case management roles. Huntsville-based defense and aerospace contractors occasionally sponsor service coordinators in logistics-adjacent functions. Large regional insurers and managed care organizations operating across the state also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for service coordinator roles in Alabama?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa category for service coordinators in Alabama, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as social work, healthcare administration, or human services. Some employers in healthcare settings may also pursue TN visas for Canadian or Mexican nationals in eligible occupational categories. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT authorization often use that status as a bridge while pursuing employer-sponsored petitions.
Which cities in Alabama have the most service coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Birmingham concentrates the largest share of service coordinator sponsorship opportunities in Alabama, driven by its dense healthcare ecosystem including UAB Health System and numerous rehabilitation and home health providers. Huntsville is a secondary hub, particularly for service coordinators supporting defense contractors and technology firms in the Tennessee Valley region. Mobile and Montgomery also have activity, primarily through managed care organizations and state-funded disability and aging services programs operating in those metro areas.
How to find service coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Alabama?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters service coordinator roles in Alabama by verified visa sponsorship history, saving you from sorting through listings that offer no sponsorship path. You can search by role type, location, and visa category to identify employers in Birmingham, Huntsville, and other Alabama cities that have actively filed Labor Condition Applications for service coordinator positions. Creating a profile on Migrate Mate also helps you track new postings as they appear.
Are there state-specific considerations for service coordinator roles and visa sponsorship in Alabama?
Alabama's service coordinator market is shaped heavily by its Medicaid waiver programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, which creates sustained demand through providers like ARC of Jefferson County and similar nonprofits. These organizations sometimes face budget constraints that affect their capacity to sponsor visas, so university-affiliated medical centers and larger regional health systems tend to be more consistent sponsors. Candidates from programs at the University of Alabama or Auburn University in social work and health administration occasionally have existing relationships with in-state employers that ease the sponsorship conversation.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service coordinator jobs in Alabama?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
