Which companies in Maine sponsor visas for service coordinator roles?
MaineHealth and Northern Light Health are among the most active sponsors for service coordinator positions in Maine, particularly in care coordination and patient services. State agencies and nonprofit disability service providers, including organizations operating under MaineCare, have also filed H-1B petitions for program and service coordinator roles. Sponsorship activity is most concentrated in healthcare-affiliated organizations rather than general staffing firms.
What visa types are most common for service coordinators in Maine?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for service coordinator roles in Maine, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social work, healthcare administration, or human services. Canadian and Mexican nationals may also pursue TN visas if the role fits an eligible TN occupation. Some positions in academic or research settings may qualify for J-1 exchange visitor classification.
Which cities in Maine have the most service coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Portland is Maine's primary hub for service coordinator sponsorship jobs, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, social service nonprofits, and corporate offices. Bangor supports a meaningful share of openings through Northern Light Health and regional disability services agencies. Augusta, as the state capital, generates sponsorship activity through government-affiliated health programs and MaineCare-contracted organizations. Lewiston also has emerging demand through community health centers.
How to find service coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Maine?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse service coordinator openings in Maine without sifting through roles that don't sponsor. You can narrow results by location to focus on Portland, Bangor, or Augusta. Because Maine's sponsorship activity is concentrated in healthcare and social services, filtering by those sectors on Migrate Mate helps surface the most relevant opportunities faster.
Are there any Maine-specific considerations for service coordinator visa sponsorship?
Maine's Department of Labor publishes prevailing wage data for service coordinator roles, which employers must meet when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application. Maine's healthcare workforce shortage has led some providers to actively recruit internationally, improving sponsorship willingness compared to more competitive labor markets. Candidates with credentials in social work or healthcare administration from accredited Maine institutions, such as the University of Maine system, may have stronger positioning with in-state employers already familiar with those programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service coordinator jobs in Maine?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
