Which companies sponsor visas for service coordinators in Ohio?
Large healthcare systems are among the most active sponsors for service coordinator roles in Ohio. Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital have histories of sponsoring H-1B and other work visas for coordinators in clinical and patient services. State and county human services agencies, behavioral health organizations, and large logistics firms in the Columbus metro area also appear in federal labor condition application filings for coordinator-level positions.
Which visa types are most common for service coordinator roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for service coordinator roles that require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as social work, healthcare administration, or human services. For the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, the employer typically needs to demonstrate that a specific degree field is required, not just preferred. Some coordinators in educational or exchange settings may also be sponsored under J-1 status, though that pathway depends heavily on the employer type and program structure.
Which cities in Ohio have the most service coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati account for the majority of service coordinator sponsorship activity in Ohio. Columbus has a large concentration of healthcare networks, state government contractors, and nonprofit organizations that regularly hire coordinators. Cleveland's anchor institutions, particularly in healthcare and social services, generate consistent demand. Cincinnati also sees sponsorship activity tied to its regional hospital systems and multistate human services organizations operating out of the area.
How to find service coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters service coordinator openings by state, making it straightforward to browse Ohio-specific opportunities. Because sponsorship is not always disclosed in standard job postings, using a platform like Migrate Mate that aggregates roles from employers with documented sponsorship histories saves significant time. Filtering by Ohio and the service coordinator role type surfaces the most relevant openings for your search.
Are there state-specific considerations for service coordinator roles and visa sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored positions are set through the Department of Labor's LCA process, and employers must pay the higher of the actual or prevailing wage for the specific region. Service coordinator roles in rural Ohio counties may have different prevailing wage levels than those in Columbus or Cleveland. Additionally, roles tied to Ohio's Medicaid waiver programs or developmental disabilities services often require specific licensure, which international candidates should verify is transferable before pursuing those positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service coordinator jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
