About the Team
The Merchant Experience Operations (MXO) team supports the creation, maintenance, and optimization of merchant catalogs across DoorDash's New Verticals lines of business, including DashMart, Convenience, Grocery, Retail, and Alcohol. The team plays a critical role in ensuring that product data, images, and pricing are accurate, timely, and reflective of merchant needs.

About the Role
As a Technical Specialist on the MXO New Verticals team, you will serve as a subject matter expert on catalog systems, data pipelines, and workflow automation. You'll handle complex catalog and tooling issues, perform data validation and root cause analysis, and drive improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency across our workflows.
You'll also partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to test and integrate new tools, ensuring they meet operational standards. This role requires technical curiosity, data fluency, and a passion for using technology and AI to improve how we work.
You will report directly to the MXO Supervisor or Manager, New Verticals.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Act as a subject matter expert for complex catalog workflows, data models, and system integrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalations using SQL, MODE, and Snowflake to identify root causes and validate data accuracy.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Tooling teams to test, document, and operationalize new solutions.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to identify workflow improvements, detect errors, and enhance data quality.
- Write and refine structured prompts for troubleshooting and automation tasks; help the team adopt effective prompt-writing practices.
- Identify recurring system issues and provide data-backed recommendations for tooling and process enhancements to leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Support the rollout of new technical workflows, ensuring accuracy, testing coverage, and clear documentation.
- Serve as a go-to for Specialists on technical best practices, data literacy, and efficient tool use.
- Uphold high standards for quality, accuracy, and efficiency across all deliverables.
We're excited about you because…
- Have advanced analytical and technical problem-solving skills and thrive in detail-oriented work.
- Are proficient in SQL and can independently query MODE, Snowflake, or other data environments.
- Have experience with automation tools, AI-assisted workflows, or scripting (Apps Script, Python, OpenAI, Gemini or equivalent).
- Demonstrate strong systems thinking — connecting how tools, data, and workflows interact.
- Communicate complex information clearly, both in written documentation and real-time troubleshooting.
- Are curious and proactive about exploring new tools, AI models, and automation methods that enhance productivity.
- Enjoy mentoring peers and helping others build technical confidence.
- Adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple priorities.

Which technology companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Arizona?
Arizona-based technology employers that have historically brought on F-1 CPT students include Intel, Microchip Technology, GoDaddy, Axon, and Honeywell's aerospace and technology divisions in Phoenix. Larger consulting firms with Arizona offices, such as Accenture and Deloitte, also participate. CPT authorization is issued by your university, not the employer, so any company willing to hire an intern can work with your DSO to facilitate it.
Which cities in Arizona have the most technology F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and Tempe account for the largest share of technology CPT opportunities in Arizona. The Tempe area benefits from its proximity to Arizona State University's main campus, making it a natural hub for student internships. Scottsdale has a growing cluster of fintech and SaaS companies. Tucson is a smaller but active market, driven by the University of Arizona and defense-adjacent technology employers like Raytheon.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
CPT eligibility depends on whether the work directly relates to your program of study, not on the job title itself. In technology, roles in software engineering, data science, machine learning, IT systems, and cybersecurity commonly qualify for students in computer science, information systems, or engineering programs. Your DSO reviews each opportunity individually, so confirming the connection between the role description and your curriculum is the most important step.
How do I find technology F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters technology F-1 CPT jobs in Arizona by visa type, so you're not sifting through listings that don't apply to your status. Beyond browsing Migrate Mate, connecting with your university's career center is worthwhile, since ASU and the University of Arizona maintain employer relationships specifically for CPT students in technology fields.
Are there any Arizona-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in technology?
Arizona has no state-level work authorization requirements beyond federal F-1 CPT rules, but a few practical factors matter. Arizona State University and the University of Arizona both require CPT authorization to be processed before your start date, and some employers in the Phoenix defense technology sector may require security clearances that F-1 students are generally ineligible to hold. Confirming clearance requirements with the employer before applying saves significant time.
