Which sports companies sponsor H-1B visas in Arizona?
Professional franchises such as the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Arizona Coyotes have filed H-1B visa petitions for specialized roles. Beyond the major leagues, sports technology firms and university athletic departments in the Phoenix metro also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data as H-1B sponsors. Sponsorship is role-specific and not guaranteed for every open position.
Which cities in Arizona have the most sports H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix accounts for the largest share of sports H-1B activity in Arizona, driven by its concentration of professional franchises and sports operations headquarters. Tempe and Scottsdale host sports technology companies and performance analytics firms that also file H-1B petitions. Tucson sees smaller but consistent activity through the University of Arizona's athletic programs and affiliated sports medicine operations.
What types of sports roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in the sports industry generally applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Qualifying roles include sports data analysts, biomechanists, sports medicine physicians, software engineers building sports technology platforms, and performance scientists. Coaching and athlete roles typically use different visa categories. The position must require theoretical and practical application of specialized knowledge.
How do I find sports H-1B sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters sports H-1B sponsorship jobs in Arizona by employer sponsorship history, role type, and location. Rather than sorting through general job boards and manually researching visa eligibility, Migrate Mate surfaces positions from employers who have demonstrated a pattern of H-1B sponsorship in the sports sector, helping you focus your applications on realistic opportunities in the Phoenix area and beyond.
Are there any Arizona-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in the sports industry?
Arizona's sports industry has a distinct seasonal dimension. Several franchises operate spring training facilities in the Cactus League corridor across the East Valley, which can create project-based roles that may not align with the H-1B's full-time employment requirements. Applicants should confirm that any role offers the continuous, specialty-occupation employment the H-1B category requires, particularly for positions tied to seasonal sports operations rather than year-round organizational functions.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B sports jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
