Search Sports Jobs in UtahSports H-1B Sponsorship Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
Which sports companies in Utah sponsor H-1B visas?
Utah's professional sports franchises are among the most active H-1B visa sponsors in the industry. The Utah Jazz, Real Salt Lake, and the Utah Hockey Club have filed Labor Condition Applications for roles in data analytics, sports science, and team operations. University athletic departments at the University of Utah and Utah State University also sponsor H-1B workers for specialized coaching and sports medicine positions.
Which cities in Utah have the most sports H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the majority of sports H-1B sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by its concentration of professional franchises and the University of Utah's athletic programs. Provo and Logan see some activity through Brigham Young University and Utah State University athletics. Park City, home to the Utah Olympic Park and several outdoor recreation organizations, also generates sponsorship filings for specialized performance and coaching roles.
What types of sports roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in sports generally applies to positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Qualifying roles commonly include sports data analysts, biomechanists, athletic trainers with advanced credentials, sports physiologists, and strength and conditioning specialists with relevant degrees. General coaching or administrative roles without a degree requirement typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard that USCIS requires for H-1B classification.
How do I find sports H-1B sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface sports roles in Utah where employers have a verified H-1B filing history. Because Migrate Mate pulls from DOL Labor Condition Application data, you can see which Utah sports organizations have actually sponsored H-1B workers rather than relying on unverified employer claims. Start your search there to focus your applications on confirmed sponsors.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for sports H-1B sponsorship?
Utah's sports industry includes a strong outdoor recreation sector alongside professional franchises, which creates H-1B opportunities in areas like exercise science, sports technology, and performance research that are less common in other states. Employers in Utah must still comply with standard H-1B prevailing wage requirements set by DOL, and workers can verify applicable wage levels using the OFLC Wage Search tool. Utah has no state-level visa rules that alter federal H-1B requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B sports jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
