Which hospitality companies in Utah sponsor H-1B visas?
Large hotel operators and management companies account for most H-1B sponsorship activity in Utah's hospitality sector. Marriott International, Hilton, and Hyatt have properties across Salt Lake City and Park City that have filed Labor Condition Applications for specialized roles. Resort operators tied to Park City Mountain and Deer Valley also periodically sponsor for senior culinary, revenue management, and operations positions requiring degree-level qualifications.
Which cities in Utah have the most hospitality H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City generates the largest share of hospitality H-1B activity in Utah, driven by its convention center, airport corridor hotels, and growing food and beverage scene. Park City is the second-highest concentration, with luxury ski resort properties consistently recruiting for specialized management and culinary roles. Provo and Ogden contribute a smaller number of openings, primarily through full-service hotel brands with national sponsorship programs.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Utah?
H-1B sponsorship in hospitality is generally limited to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Utah, this typically covers roles such as food and beverage director, revenue manager, hotel general manager, executive chef with culinary management credentials, and hospitality technology or systems analyst. Front-desk, housekeeping, and entry-level service roles do not meet the specialty occupation standard and are not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I find hospitality H-1B sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking H-1B sponsorship roles, including hospitality positions in Utah. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface employers who have a documented history of sponsoring H-1B workers in the hospitality sector. Searching on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to screening general job postings that rarely disclose sponsorship availability upfront.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in hospitality?
Utah's hospitality market is heavily influenced by its ski season calendar and large convention activity tied to Salt Lake City. This creates distinct hiring cycles, with resort operators recruiting for senior roles well before the October–April peak season and convention hotels staffing up around major events. H-1B petitions must be filed months in advance of the intended start date, so candidates targeting seasonal hospitality roles in Utah need to account for that lead time when planning their applications.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B hospitality jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
