Which insurance companies in Utah sponsor H-1B visas?
Salt Lake City-based employers with documented H-1B filing histories in the insurance sector include SelectHealth, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, and various national carriers with Utah operations such as Allstate, Farmers Insurance, and Cigna. Large insurers and their affiliated technology or analytics arms tend to file more H-1B petitions than independent agencies or smaller regional carriers.
Which cities in Utah have the most insurance H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the majority of insurance H-1B roles in Utah, given its concentration of regional headquarters, financial services firms, and health insurance operations. Provo and Orem in Utah County form a secondary market, particularly for insurtech and data-driven roles tied to the tech corridor. Ogden occasionally surfaces openings with larger carriers that have distribution or claims offices in the area.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in insurance is most common for roles that require a specific bachelor's degree or higher as a standard industry requirement. Actuaries, data scientists, financial analysts, underwriting analysts, risk management specialists, and compliance officers regularly meet the specialty occupation standard. General sales agent or customer service positions rarely qualify because they do not typically require a degree in a specific technical field.
How do I find insurance H-1B sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and lets you filter for H-1B sponsorship roles in the insurance industry within Utah. Rather than sorting through general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified sponsorship activity, saving you significant time. Filtering by state and industry together gives you a focused list of Utah insurance employers who have sponsored H-1B workers.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in insurance?
Utah's insurance market is heavily influenced by its large health insurance sector, which is tied to major healthcare systems like Intermountain Health. Many insurance roles in the state sit at the intersection of healthcare and finance, meaning candidates with backgrounds in health informatics, biostatistics, or healthcare compliance may find more sponsoring employers here than in states with a more traditional property and casualty focus. Utah's growing tech sector also means insurtech roles with H-1B sponsorship are increasingly present along the Wasatch Front.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B insurance jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
