Which accounting companies sponsor H-1B visas in Arizona?
The Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, all have Phoenix-area offices and have historically filed H-1B visa petitions for accounting roles. Regional firms like CliftonLarsonAllen and RSM also operate in Arizona. Beyond public accounting, large corporations headquartered or regionally based in Arizona, including Banner Health and Freeport-McMoRan, sponsor H-1B workers in finance and accounting functions.
Which cities in Arizona have the most accounting H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix accounts for the majority of accounting H-1B sponsorship activity in Arizona, given its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and Big Four offices. Scottsdale and Tempe are secondary hubs, particularly for financial technology and corporate accounting roles. Tucson has a smaller but present accounting market, often tied to the University of Arizona and regional healthcare and government contractors.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify include public accountants, auditors, tax specialists, financial analysts, and forensic accountants, as these positions generally require at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field, meeting the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Managerial roles like controllers and finance directors can also qualify when the position requires specific technical accounting expertise rather than general business management.
How do I find accounting H-1B sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking H-1B sponsorship, and you can filter directly by visa type, state, and industry to surface accounting roles in Arizona from employers with sponsorship history. This removes the guesswork of identifying which employers are open to H-1B candidates, which is one of the most time-consuming parts of the job search for international accounting professionals.
Are there any Arizona-specific considerations for H-1B accounting sponsorship?
Arizona does not require state-level licensure before an H-1B petition is filed, but CPAs practicing in the state must eventually obtain an Arizona CPA license from the Arizona State Board of Accountancy. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers for licensed CPA roles may factor in licensure timelines during hiring. Arizona's no state income tax advantage has also attracted financial services firms to relocate operations to the Phoenix area, modestly expanding the sponsoring employer base.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B accounting jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
