Search Accounting Jobs in ColoradoAccounting H-1B Sponsorship Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
Which accounting companies sponsor H-1B visas in Colorado?
The Big Four firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG) all have Colorado offices and have historically filed H-1B visa petitions for accounting professionals. Large corporations headquartered or with major operations in Colorado, including DaVita, Arrow Electronics, and Ball Corporation, also sponsor accounting roles. Regional public accounting firms occasionally sponsor as well, though less frequently than national firms.
Which cities in Colorado have the most accounting H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the largest share of accounting H-1B sponsorship activity in Colorado, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, Big Four offices, and financial services firms. Boulder has a growing presence, particularly tied to its tech and startup sector. Colorado Springs and the Denver Tech Center (Greenwood Village) also have meaningful accounting hiring activity, especially in corporate finance and shared services roles.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that require a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a closely related field typically qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules. Common qualifying titles include Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, Financial Analyst, Audit Associate, Tax Associate, and Management Accountant. Positions requiring CPA licensure or graduate-level credentials generally have a stronger case for specialty occupation status.
How do I find accounting H-1B sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter accounting jobs in Colorado by H-1B sponsorship. Rather than sorting through general job postings that don't address immigration support, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers with a documented history of H-1B filings, which is particularly useful for accounting candidates targeting Denver and Boulder.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for accounting H-1B sponsorship?
Colorado's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules are benchmarked to DOL wage data for specific accounting occupations and counties, so employer offers must meet those thresholds. Colorado's relatively competitive accounting job market, especially in Denver, means employers sponsoring H-1B candidates are often looking for specialized skills such as Big Four experience, CPA licensure, or industry-specific expertise in energy, healthcare, or technology.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B accounting jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
