The position will require candidates to be able to interface with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and automated manufacturing execution systems and partner organizations.
- Partner with manufacturing, equipment engineering, IT, process engineering, and quality teams to understand business needs and translate them into automation solutions.
- Design and implement real-time communication interfaces using SEMI standards (SECS/GEM, GEM300).
- Maintain and improve software architecture, ensuring scalability, robustness, and maintainability.
- Lead root-cause analysis and system-level debugging for complex integration issues.
- Lead technical discussions, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and drive best practice adoption across the automation team.
- Explore emerging business disruptions and trends in the industry with the objective of identifying opportunities to influence and intercept internal product roadmaps with specific product and/or feature responses.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.
- 7+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing automation, systems integration, or related areas.
- 5+ years' experience with database systems (such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
- 5+ years' experience with yield management systems (YMS), statistical process control (SPC), and automated yield/SPC workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.
- Hands-on experience with SEMI communication standards (SECS/GEM, EDA/Interface A, GEM300).
- Strong debugging and data analysis skills, especially in complex production environments.
- Experience in 300mm manufacturing environments. MES300 and/or Workstream experience is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with yield engineering teams to enhance automated analytics for scrap reduction, drift detection, and process health monitoring.
- Understanding of factory KPIs (OEE, cycle time, throughput, yield).
Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Which electronics companies sponsor H-1B visas in Arizona?
Intel has a significant presence in Chandler and is one of Arizona's most active H-1B visa sponsors in the electronics space. Microchip Technology, headquartered in Chandler, regularly files H-1B petitions for semiconductor and embedded systems engineers. Honeywell sponsors H-1B workers across its aerospace electronics divisions in Phoenix and Tucson. ON Semiconductor, also based in Phoenix, is another consistent H-1B sponsor in the state's semiconductor industry.
Which cities in Arizona have the most electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs?
The Phoenix metropolitan area, particularly Chandler and Tempe, accounts for the largest share of electronics H-1B sponsorship activity in Arizona due to the concentration of semiconductor fabs and hardware companies there. Tucson is a secondary hub with notable defense electronics employers. Mesa and Scottsdale also host electronics firms that file H-1B petitions, though at lower volumes than the Chandler and Phoenix corridors.
What types of electronics roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field are the core of H-1B eligibility in electronics. Semiconductor process engineers, VLSI design engineers, embedded systems engineers, hardware design engineers, RF engineers, and PCB layout engineers are among the positions Arizona electronics employers regularly sponsor. Quality and reliability engineers with specialized electrical engineering degrees also appear frequently in H-1B filings from Arizona-based manufacturers.
How do I find electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type and industry, making it straightforward to browse electronics H-1B opportunities in Arizona without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and the Electronics and Hardware category to see current openings from Arizona employers actively filing H-1B petitions. Migrate Mate pulls from verified sponsorship data, so the listings reflect employers with a documented history of H-1B filings.
Are there any Arizona-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in the electronics industry?
Arizona's semiconductor industry operates under CHIPS Act funding, which has driven significant expansion at facilities like Intel's Chandler fabs and TSMC's Phoenix campus. This growth has increased demand for specialized engineering talent, which supports H-1B sponsorship activity. However, some federally funded projects carry domestic hiring preferences, so it's worth confirming with each employer whether specific roles are open to H-1B candidates before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B electronics jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
