Which electronics companies sponsor H-1B visas in Colorado?
Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, Ball Aerospace, and L3Harris are among the largest H-1B visa sponsors in Colorado's electronics and defense sector. On the commercial side, companies like Arrow Electronics, which is headquartered in Centennial, and hardware-focused startups in the Boulder and Denver metro areas have also filed H-1B petitions for electronics and engineering roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by company size and hiring volume.
Which cities in Colorado have the most electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs?
The Denver metro area, including Aurora and Centennial, accounts for the largest concentration of electronics H-1B roles in Colorado, driven by defense contractors and semiconductor distributors. Colorado Springs is a secondary hub with significant aerospace and defense electronics activity. Boulder hosts hardware startups and research-oriented companies with ties to the University of Colorado, producing steady demand for sponsored engineering talent.
What types of electronics roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field are most likely to qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules. In electronics, this includes hardware engineers, embedded systems engineers, RF engineers, PCB design engineers, FPGA developers, and electrical engineers specializing in power systems or signal integrity. Positions where a degree in a specific engineering discipline is a standard requirement, not just preferred, are the strongest candidates for approval.
How do I find electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface electronics roles in Colorado where employers have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship. This saves time compared to manually screening job postings that don't disclose sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate pulls together hardware and electronics openings across the Front Range so you can focus on applications where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Colorado's electronics industry?
Colorado's electronics hiring is heavily influenced by its large defense and aerospace contracting base, which means some roles require security clearances. H-1B holders can apply for certain clearance levels, but the process is complex and employer-dependent, so it's worth confirming a company's policy before applying. Colorado also has active pay transparency laws requiring employers to post compensation ranges, which gives H-1B applicants clearer information about prevailing wage compliance during the application process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B electronics jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
