Which companies sponsor visas for program assistants in Arkansas?
The most active sponsors for program assistant roles in Arkansas tend to be large institutions rather than small private employers. The University of Arkansas system, Arkansas Children's Hospital, the Arkansas Department of Human Services, and federally affiliated nonprofits have histories of sponsoring H-1B and other work visas. Research universities and healthcare systems in the state generally have dedicated HR infrastructure to manage the sponsorship process.
Which visa types are most common for program assistant roles in Arkansas?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for program assistants in Arkansas, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as public health, social work, or education administration. Some positions at universities may be eligible for J-1 exchange visitor status. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also explore the TN visa if the role fits a qualifying occupational category.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most program assistant sponsorship jobs?
Little Rock, as the state capital, has the highest concentration of program assistant roles tied to government agencies, hospitals, and nonprofits. Fayetteville is a strong second, driven by the University of Arkansas flagship campus and a growing number of corporate and research organizations. Jonesboro, home to Arkansas State University, also sees periodic openings. Smaller markets like Conway and Russellville have fewer opportunities but do host some regionally significant employers.
How to find program assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters program assistant jobs in Arkansas by sponsorship history. Rather than sorting through postings where sponsorship availability is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers that have demonstrated a willingness to sponsor. Setting up a focused search for program assistant positions in Arkansas on Migrate Mate can significantly reduce time spent on unqualified applications.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program assistant sponsorship in Arkansas?
Arkansas is a lower cost-of-living state, which affects the prevailing wage calculations that employers must meet when filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications. The DOL sets prevailing wages by occupation and metropolitan area, so rates in Little Rock and Fayetteville differ from rural counties. International candidates should also be aware that Arkansas has a smaller immigration attorney community than major metros, so working with an experienced firm, potentially based elsewhere, is worth considering early in the process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program assistant jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
