INTRODUCTION
Founded in 1977 as the Senior Care Action Network, SCAN began with a simple but radical idea: that older adults deserve to stay healthy and independent. That belief was championed by a group of community activists we still honor today as the “12 Angry Seniors.” Their mission continues to guide everything we do.
Today, SCAN is a nonprofit health organization serving more than 500,000 people across Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington, with over $8 billion in annual revenue. With nearly five decades of experience, we have built a distinctive, values-driven platform dedicated to improving care for older adults.
Our work spans Medicare Advantage, fully integrated care models, primary care, care for the most medically and socially complex populations, and next-generation care delivery models. Across all of this, we are united by a shared commitment: combining compassion with discipline, innovation with stewardship, and growth with integrity.
At SCAN, we believe scale should strengthen—not dilute—our mission. We are building the future of care for older adults, grounded in purpose, accountability, and respect for the people and communities we serve.

Which insurance companies in California sponsor Green Cards?
Several major California-based insurers have established Green Card sponsorship programs, including Farmers Insurance (Los Angeles), Pacific Life (Newport Beach), Transamerica (Los Angeles), and CSAA Insurance Group (Oakland). National carriers with large California operations, such as Zurich North America and AIG, also sponsor PERM-based Green Cards for specialized roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by role and seniority, so checking individual employer PERM disclosure data through the DOL's FLAG system can help you identify active sponsors.
Which California cities have the most insurance Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles has the highest concentration, home to Farmers Insurance, Transamerica, and numerous regional carriers. The San Francisco Bay Area, including Oakland and San Jose, is strong for insurtech and specialty lines firms. Irvine and Newport Beach in Orange County host several life and annuity carriers. Sacramento sees demand through state-regulated health insurers and workers' compensation specialists tied to California's large public-sector workforce.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in California?
Roles requiring specialized, degree-level expertise are most commonly sponsored. These include actuaries, senior underwriters, risk analysts, data scientists focused on insurance modeling, claims specialists with technical expertise, and compliance officers familiar with California's dense regulatory environment. Positions demanding niche credentials, such as credentialed actuaries with CAS or SOA designations, are particularly strong candidates for employer-sponsored PERM applications because the specialized labor market is tight.
How do I find insurance Green Card sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa-sponsored roles, including Green Card-sponsored insurance jobs in California. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface employers actively hiring with sponsorship. Because PERM-based Green Card sponsorship requires employers to document recruitment efforts, searching Migrate Mate alongside the DOL's OFLC disclosure data helps you identify carriers with a track record of sponsoring permanent residency in insurance roles.
Are there California-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in the insurance industry?
Yes. California's Department of Insurance imposes licensing requirements that can affect how quickly sponsored employees can work in certain roles, so employers factor licensing timelines into their hiring decisions. The state's prevailing wage requirements under PERM are also generally higher than national averages given California's cost of living, which means employers must meet elevated wage thresholds when filing. Additionally, California's strict worker classification laws may influence how some insurers structure sponsorship-eligible positions.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card insurance jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
