JOB SUMMARY
The M&A Label Marketing Manager serves as a strategic marketing partner to CMG’s acquired and partner labels, developing and executing campaigns that drive discovery, audience growth, and long-term artist development. The role leads marketing strategy across social media, short-form content, DSPs, creator partnerships, paid media, and emerging platforms, while advising labels on creative direction, audience strategy, release positioning, and marketing investment.
Working closely with CMG’s creative, digital, Flighthouse, DSP, A&R, and distribution teams, this role brings campaigns from ideation through execution and optimization. The ideal candidate combines strong creative instincts with a deep understanding of music culture, social trends, and audience data, and can identify innovative opportunities that strengthen both individual campaigns and CMG’s broader M&A label ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Label Consulting
- Be a strategic marketing partner to acquired and partner labels, developing release and artist marketing strategies across social, DSPs, paid media, creator marketing, and emerging channels
- Advise labels on positioning, audience strategy, creative direction, campaign timing, and marketing investment
- Identify growth opportunities across frontline releases, catalog, and artist development using audience and performance data
Social, Content & Creative
- Lead the ideation and development of social-first campaigns, with a strong focus on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms
- Oversee campaign creative, including short-form video, creator concepts, copy, and digital activations, ensuring content is compelling, on-brand, and culturally relevant
- Partner with internal creative teams, Flighthouse, artists, creators, and external vendors to bring campaigns from concept through execution
Campaign Execution & Performance
- Lead priority campaigns from planning through post-release, coordinating content, DSP, paid media, creator activations, and promotional opportunities
- Monitor campaign performance and use data-driven insights to optimize creative, media spend, audience targeting, and overall strategy
- Identify opportunities to extend the lifecycle of successful releases through additional content, partnerships, remixes, creator campaigns, and paid amplification
Audience Growth & Platform Strategy
- Develop strategies that drive discovery, streaming growth, fan acquisition, and long-term audience development across major social and music platforms
- Analyze audience behavior, platform trends, emerging markets, and cultural moments to identify new growth opportunities
- Stay ahead of changes in social media, streaming, creator ecosystems, and music discovery to continuously evolve CMG's marketing approach
Marketing Innovation & CMG Ecosystem
- Identify new tools, platforms, vendors, partnerships, and technologies that can strengthen CMG's music marketing capabilities
- Leverage Flighthouse's brand, creator network, production capabilities, and social reach to develop differentiated opportunities for M&A labels
- Scale successful marketing concepts, partnerships, and best practices across the broader M&A portfolio
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the marketing bridge between partner labels and CMG's creative, digital, DSP, Flighthouse, A&R, distribution, finance, and paid media teams
- Align internal stakeholders around campaign priorities, timelines, budgets, and execution
- Help establish scalable marketing workflows and mentor team members as the M&A marketing function grows
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in music marketing, digital marketing, label marketing, artist development, or a related role within the music or entertainment industry
- Strong understanding of modern music marketing across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, DSPs, creator marketing, paid media, and emerging platforms
- Proven ability to develop and execute creative, integrated campaigns from initial concept through launch, optimization, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of music culture, social trends, audience behavior, and the ways digital platforms drive music discovery and fan development
- Experience managing multiple artists, labels, releases, or campaigns simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate campaign, streaming, social, and audience data into actionable marketing recommendations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate creative strategies to internal teams, artists, labels, and external partners
- Strong cross-functional leadership and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate creative, digital, DSP, paid media, A&R, and distribution stakeholders
- Existing relationships across music marketing, creators, agencies, platforms, or digital vendors are a plus
PAY SCALE
- $27.00 - $31.25 per hour
- The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
