An American icon, Fender was born in Southern California and has built a worldwide influence extending beyond the studio and the stage. A Fender is more than an instrument, it's a cultural symbol that resonates globally.
We are searching for a Sr. UI/UX Web Designer. This role requires a design guru who thrives in fast-paced environments, interprets incoming requirements with confidence, and can drive both strategy and execution with attention to detail and craft.
We place product discovery, customer engagement and brand elevation at the forefront. You'll be working closely with the Marketing web team to define, design and deliver a best-in-class direct-to-consumer experience for our customers and revenue potential globally. The role demands digital web design depth, with principled, empathetic and innovative thinking, sound judgment, and a refusal to settle on a "just OK" result. We require a high bar for quality and design, and design approached with a player-centric mentality throughout.
Essential Functions:
- Support web design across Fender's Shopify website ecosystem
- Translate business goals and user needs into intuitive, user-centered design solutions
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and the creative team to ensure continuity in delivery of product design expectations
- Evolve and scale responsive design systems across web touchpoints
- Contribute to and champion the refreshed Fender design language
- Present design work clearly and persuasively to stakeholders
- Balance large initiatives with iterative optimizations (e.g. PDP/PLP updates, merch modules)
Qualifications
- 6+ years of web design experience, with a strong UI/UX background in supporting global corporate websites that combine brand storytelling with eCommerce
- Strong UX skills, including information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and problem solving
- Excellent visual design skills with experience collaborating closely with brand/creative teams
- Experience working in Shopify and/or content management systems like Contentful
- Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with Jira workflows
- Ability to self-direct and confidently present work in a lean, cross-functional environment
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity through design
Bonus Points:
- Familiarity with Baymard Institute best practices and accessibility standards
- Passion for music or experience working with global consumer brands
- Experience designing lifestyle commerce-oriented experiences
- Multi-platform/multi-screen experience

Fender is required by law in certain jurisdictions to include a pay scale in the job posting for this position. "Pay scale" means the salary or hourly wage range that Fender reasonably expects to pay for this position; it is neither a promise nor a guarantee of the compensation that the successful candidate will receive. The pay scale for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that Fender considers in making compensation decisions, including, without limitation: skill set, experience, and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. If this is a remote position, the pay scale disclosed herein may be adjusted further based upon the applicable geographic differential associated with the location from which the successful candidate will work. Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $80,000.00 - $145,000.00.

Which music companies in California sponsor visas most frequently?
Major record labels like Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group in Los Angeles frequently sponsor O-1 and H-1B visas for specialized music roles. Tech companies including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music in Silicon Valley also sponsor visas for music technology, audio engineering, and product development positions.
What visa types are most common for music professionals in California?
O-1 visas are most common for performers, composers, and producers with extraordinary ability in music. H-1B visas are used for specialized roles like audio engineers, music software developers, and data analysts at music tech companies. P-1 visas apply to touring musicians and bands performing in California venues.
How to find music visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international music professionals with California employers who sponsor visas. The platform filters opportunities by location and music specialization, from Los Angeles recording studios to San Francisco music tech companies, making it easier to identify genuine sponsorship opportunities in California's competitive music market.
Which California cities offer the most music visa sponsorship opportunities?
Los Angeles leads with the highest concentration of music sponsorship jobs, particularly in recording studios, entertainment companies, and music production. San Francisco and Silicon Valley offer opportunities with music technology companies, while Oakland and San Diego have growing independent music scenes with emerging sponsorship potential.
Are there prevailing wage considerations specific to California's music industry?
California's high cost of living affects prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions in music roles. Los Angeles and San Francisco metropolitan areas have elevated prevailing wage levels that employers must meet for visa sponsorship, particularly impacting entry-level positions in recording and music production roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored music jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
