Which music companies in New York sponsor visas?
Major record labels like Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group frequently sponsor visas for international talent. Broadway theaters, Live Nation venues, SiriusXM, Spotify's New York office, and established recording studios also sponsor visas for roles ranging from A&R specialists to sound engineers and music producers.
How to find music visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international professionals with visa-sponsoring music employers in New York. The platform filters opportunities by visa type and includes positions at record labels, entertainment companies, and music tech firms throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and other NYC boroughs that have sponsored international workers.
What visa types are most common for music jobs in New York?
H-1B visas are common for specialized roles like music producers, sound engineers, and A&R managers. O-1 visas suit internationally recognized performers, composers, and music industry executives with extraordinary ability. L-1 visas apply when international music companies transfer employees to their New York offices or subsidiaries.
Which New York cities have the most music sponsorship opportunities?
Manhattan leads with major record labels, Broadway theaters, and music publishing companies concentrated in Midtown and the Financial District. Brooklyn offers opportunities with independent labels, recording studios, and music venues. Queens and the Bronx have growing music scenes with emerging companies beginning to sponsor international talent.
Are there prevailing wage considerations for music roles in New York?
New York's high prevailing wages can actually benefit music visa applications, as they often exceed national averages for similar roles. The Department of Labor's wage determinations for music-related positions in the New York metropolitan area reflect the city's status as a premium market, which can strengthen sponsorship cases.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored music jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
