This position may be based remotely in the U.S. or hybrid out of any of EDF’s U.S. offices.
Duration
This position is a two-year fixed term position with full benefits and possibility of extension.
Overall Function
The Vendor Specialist will help shape the future of EDF’s strategic procurement. The mission of the procurement function is to support EDF’s long-term success and sustainable growth by establishing strategic thinking in all procurement efforts, resulting in responsible stewardship of organizational resources, streamlining of business processes, and a combination of quality, flexibility, innovation and diverse, sustainable suppliers.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Procurement Operations and Risk Management, the Vendor Specialist’s primary function will be to provide administrative support related to procuring goods and services for the organization, working across a broad range of legal, commercial, and operational matters on a multinational level.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the administrative procurement process including document retention, supplier contracts, communications, supplier reviews, and vendor onboarding.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of a contract and order management system and the general maintenance of the EDF Third-Party Management Platform.
- Support the Senior Specialist, Procurement with maintaining up-to-date procurement documents and policies.
- Conduct research on potential vendors and market research to identify pricing trends.
- Participate in advancing EDF organizational effectiveness and culture goals, so people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included and empowered to address environmental and organizational challenges in ways that align with EDF values.
- Act as the internal point-of-contact for questions regarding procurement and vendor management.
- Prepare periodic reports related to purchasing, inventory control, and contract management.
- Work on special projects as needed.
- Additional relevant responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience required. A Bachelor’s degree in finance, supply chain, procurement, or business is a plus and may substitute for up to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong research, problem solving, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, attentive to detail, and highly organized.
- Demonstrated self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across all cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain and track progress on multiple projects and goals at once with little direction and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of procurement and contracting processes.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of ERP, P2P, SRM, and CMS systems in the procurement space.
- Ability to identify, learn, and utilize new technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Strong formula knowledge in Excel is a plus.
- Experience in project management is a plus.
- Experience with SharePoint and Asana is a plus.
