Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor Green Card visas in Colorado?
Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, Northrop Grumman, United Launch Alliance, and Ball Aerospace are among the largest aerospace and defense employers in Colorado with documented Green Card sponsorship activity. These companies file PERM labor certifications through the DOL for engineers, scientists, and program managers. Smaller defense contractors and space-focused firms in the Denver metro and Colorado Springs areas also sponsor, though less frequently.
Which cities in Colorado have the most aerospace and defense Green Card sponsorship jobs?
The Denver metro area, particularly Littleton, Aurora, Centennial, and Westminster, concentrates the highest number of aerospace and defense Green Card sponsorship positions, driven by prime contractor campuses there. Colorado Springs is a second major hub, with significant defense and space operations tied to military installations including Schriever Space Force Base and Peterson Space Force Base. Boulder also hosts several aerospace research and engineering employers.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Colorado?
Roles requiring specialized engineering degrees and clearance-eligible backgrounds are most commonly sponsored, including systems engineers, aerospace engineers, software engineers focused on embedded or defense systems, propulsion specialists, guidance and navigation engineers, and program managers. These positions typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related technical field, satisfying PERM specialty occupation standards. Quality assurance engineers and radar or communications systems specialists are also frequently sponsored.
How do I find aerospace and defense Green Card sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa sponsorship type, letting you search specifically for Green Card-sponsored aerospace and defense roles in Colorado without manually screening thousands of postings. You can narrow results by location, employer, and role type to surface positions where employers have an established track record of PERM filings. This saves significant time compared to reviewing general job boards where sponsorship details are rarely disclosed upfront.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in Colorado's aerospace and defense sector?
Many Colorado aerospace and defense roles require or eventually require a U.S. security clearance, which is only available to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. Employers will often sponsor a Green Card specifically because permanent residency enables the clearance process. Candidates should be aware that PERM-based sponsorship timelines can extend over several years, and roles at federally contracted facilities may have additional compliance requirements around foreign national access during the interim period.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card aerospace & defense jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
