Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor Green Cards in New Jersey?
Lockheed Martin, L3Harris Technologies, Raytheon Technologies, Boeing, and BAE Systems all have established presences in New Jersey and have filed Green Card-related labor certifications in the past. Smaller defense contractors and systems integrators operating near Fort Dix and the Naval Air Warfare Center in Lakehurst also participate in sponsorship, particularly for engineering and technical program roles.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most aerospace and defense Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Moorestown and Mount Laurel in Burlington County are significant hubs due to Lockheed Martin's radar and defense systems operations. Camden and Cherry Hill attract defense electronics firms, while Parsippany and Morris County see activity from defense IT and systems integration contractors. The Route 1 corridor between Princeton and New Brunswick also draws aerospace-adjacent employers with engineering workforces.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in New Jersey?
Roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field are the most common candidates for employer-sponsored Green Cards. In New Jersey's aerospace and defense sector, that typically includes systems engineers, radar and avionics engineers, software developers working on defense systems, electrical engineers, and program analysts. Positions tied to classified programs may require U.S. citizenship, which can limit sponsorship eligibility for some roles.
How do I find aerospace and defense Green Card sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by visa type and state, so you can browse aerospace and defense roles in New Jersey where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to scanning general job postings with no sponsorship information. Migrate Mate aggregates roles across defense contractors and systems integrators actively hiring in New Jersey, helping you identify which employers are open to permanent residency support.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in New Jersey's aerospace sector?
Many aerospace and defense positions in New Jersey involve work on government contracts that require security clearances. Certain clearance levels are restricted to U.S. citizens, which can make Green Card sponsorship complex for roles tied to classified programs. Employers will typically sponsor Green Cards for positions that do not require a clearance or that accommodate foreign nationals during the adjudication period. PERM labor certification timelines also mean the process can span multiple years, so early employer conversations about sponsorship intent matter.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card aerospace & defense jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
