Which aerospace and defense companies in Massachusetts sponsor Green Card visas?
Several major contractors in Massachusetts have established Green Card sponsorship histories, including Raytheon Technologies, General Dynamics Mission Systems, BAE Systems, Draper Laboratory, and Leonardo DRS. These employers typically file PERM labor certification applications for engineers, scientists, and technical program managers. Sponsorship patterns vary by business unit and hiring volume, so researching individual employer records through OFLC disclosure data gives the clearest picture of recent activity.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most aerospace and defense Green Card sponsorship jobs?
The highest concentration of aerospace and defense employers with Green Card sponsorship history is found in Greater Boston, Woburn, Tewksbury, Burlington, and Cambridge. The Route 128 technology corridor links many of these clusters. Tewksbury hosts significant Raytheon operations, while Cambridge is home to Draper Laboratory and several defense-adjacent research institutions. Bedford and Lexington also host defense contractors with active technical hiring.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Roles most commonly sponsored through the PERM process in this sector include systems engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers with defense clearance eligibility, radar and sensor specialists, mechanical engineers, and program or project managers. Positions requiring specialized degrees in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science tend to qualify as specialty occupations. Research scientists and test engineers with advanced credentials are also regularly sponsored by Massachusetts defense contractors.
How do I find aerospace and defense Green Card sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters aerospace and defense jobs in Massachusetts specifically by Green Card sponsorship history, drawing on OFLC Labor Condition Application and PERM disclosure data so you can see which employers have actively sponsored workers in this sector. Rather than sorting through unverified job listings, Migrate Mate surfaces roles at verified sponsoring companies, helping you focus your search on employers with a documented record of supporting permanent residency applications in Massachusetts.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in aerospace and defense?
Many Massachusetts defense roles require or strongly prefer U.S. security clearances, which are only available to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. This creates a practical complication: employers may be willing to begin the Green Card process for non-citizens in unclassified roles, but advancement into certain programs requires clearance eligibility first. Candidates should ask employers directly about their sponsorship policy for roles with classified components before entering the PERM process.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card aerospace & defense jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
